TRAVEL VIRTUALLY: BAY MASLINICA NEAR STARI GRAD, ISLAND HVAR
Before all this coronavirus situation, I promised to show you the most beautiful bays, beaches and coves on island Hvar. I'm not doing much sightseeing these days as I can't venture far from my home due to enforced laws & regulations, but I still have about a dozen bays in my blogging archives that I can stare with you. I figured that today is just as good a day as any to introduce Maslinica bay near Stari Grad on island Hvar to you.
Situated about 2 km from Stari Grad city centre, Maslinica bay boosts with one of the few sand beaches in the vicinity. As you might know, I prefer pebble beaches myself, but I have to admit this sand beach is lovely. Moreover, this beach is only a few minutes walk from where the ferry docks. You can walk from the ferry here in no time. This is a fantastic option for those who plan to visit Hvar only for a day. Keep in in mind for when (and if) travelling is allowed again.
This is one of those beaches that I discovered by accident. I went to a mall that is located here to do some grocery shopping and we decided to go for a walk. We discovered this beautiful beach quite by chance. Now, that I think of it, I must have seen this bay from a distance during all the numerous ferry rides I took over the years, but I never realized it is so near the place the ferry docks. Moreover, I don't really remember there was this nice pathway leading to it before. Maybe it was built years ago, to be honest I haven't had the chance to inspect this area very closely in years. I might have spend a good portion of my childhood here, but I haven't had as many chances to spend prolonged periods of time here as an adult- until now.
Maslinica bay is as lovely as is the beach itself. There is plenty of shade and greenery. There are only a few houses in the bay, but I'm assuming that at least some of them are available for renting- not right now obviously. It might be a good option for when travel is allowed again. This is a lovely location for sure. This bay feels secluded but it is quite close to Stari Grad city and only a few minutes from the only mall in the area. Maslinica bay offers views on both island Hvar itself and island Brač. I'm happy we happened upon it during our walk.
HOW TO GET TO BEACH MASLINICA?
You can easily reach this beach by following a pathway. It is only a short walk from the ferry dock, five minutes on foot or so. I wasn't sure is there a direct road leading to it, so I had a look at that TripAdvisor site and according to it, there is- and also plenty of parking space. I'm assuming if there is a direct road to it, there must also be a place where you can take a turn on the main road above. There is probably a table or something- I just never paid attention to it. I mentioned that there is this lovely pathway and that is how we got there. I will just point out that this lovely pathway is also suitable for running and cycling. A good option even if you don't particularly care about the beach.
THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE?
The wine cardigan is from Mana as well. I'm not sure has it been featured on the blog ( I wasn't able to find it) before but I have worn it a couple of times.
The cherry print dress is a collaboration piece. You can see how I wore it here, here and here. You can also check out this post where I wore this dress with a yellow bag. Here is a similar outfit, but with wedges. If you are the type that loves perky accessories, check out this post where I wore this dress with hand made cat ears.
The black bag is gift from my significant other. You can see how I styled it before here, here, here, here , here, here and here.
The biker boots are from Retro store in Mostar, not sure about the brand though. See how I styled them before here, here, here , here, here and here.

DeleteI like your dress and it looks like a fun place to visit, even though it's strange seeing the cruise ship behind you, with all the different ways we view cruises now! (The virus spreading on the cruise ships is the cause of a lot of our cases of covid-19 in Australia!).
