Ivana's review of the Iliad by Homer (Books XVII- XXIV)
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! I'm back with the last and final book review post focusing on the ancient Greek epic poem the Iliad, by Homer. As I probably mentioned on my blog, I first read the Iliad as an adolescent, and then again and again as an educator. So, it is a work of literature that I'm quite familiar with. Still, every time I read the Iliad by Homer, I feel like I discover something new. This time around, perhaps more than ever, I felt absolutely engrossed in the Iliad . I experienced a whole array of emotions while rereading the Iliad , from fascination, to sadness and even disgust. In reality, I think that we never read a book in the same way, because our inner emotional and psychological state often guides and influences our reading process. I think that rereading a known classic can often prove more beneficial than just picking up any random book. There are as many benefits to rereading, as there are to reading, but back to the subject of the Iliad ....
