MADAME BOVARY: PROVINCIAL MANNERS, A NOVEL BY GUSTAVE FLAUBERT (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

 Today I will review Madame Bovary: Provincial Manners , a legendary novel by Gustave Flaubert.    I can hardly believe I didn't read this classic before, being a lover of realism since my teens, but fortunately it is never too late to read and enjoy a fine book. A good book is like good wine, it only gets better with time. Naturally, I was more than familiar with the story of Madame Bovary . I'm sure many people are familiar with the plot of this famous novel, even if they haven't read it themselves.  I studied literature so I read about it on a number of occasions. There is hardly a textbook that doesn't reference this great novel. I'm sure there are whole passages of Madame Bovary that I read before I picked up this novel. I even remember reading quotes from in on pages of other bloggers. However, knowing the plot of this novel (or hearing it quoted) didn't ruin this book for me.
