Island Hvar inspired this necklace (outfit post)/ Otok Hvar je nadahnuće za ovu ogrlicu (odjevna kombinacija)

If you spent each day on a different Croatian island, it would take you three years to visit them all, as there are more than a 1, 200 islands in Croatia. I visted only one Croatian island this Summer and I'm currently trying to work out in my head how many of them I have visited in my lifetime. Alas, only a handful of them. So many Croatian islands to visit, so little time!

Standing on my grandmother's terrace, I realize the root of my fascination with rocks. Not the precious or expenssive kind but rocks dig from earth so full of them that farming was almost impossible, rocks that build houses and fences, rocks that are testiment to a remarbakle strenght of people who populated and surrowed on islands lacking natural water resources or fertile land, defying thirst,  hunger, pirates and numerous enemy invasions.

I feel at home in both Split and Mostar but when I get off  the ferry and step onto island Hvar, I step into a magical world. It took me a while to define this feel and the closest I came to describing is by saying I feel like I walked in one of my paintings. The colours, the smells, the feelings it envokes...it's more than a home away from home or a place where I orginate from. It is a home of my imagination.

Ja sam ovo ljeto posjetila tek jedan od hrvatskih otoka, a baš pokušavam izračunati u glavi koliko sam ih posjetila do sada.

Your home of your imagination looks great, so do you, dear Ivana :) I see that you relaxed a little in your grandmother's terrance:) What about Croatia you know that I really like your country, I'm really amazed on the amount of islands you have there and I bet that every, even the smallest island is worth to see! What about your idea, I love your DIY necklace, did you use some stones here? Take care, dear!

  21. There are certainly homes to our imagination, places of ultimate home-ness to us, more than family or friends, a wholeness, an energy. And these are place-bound just as much as they are mobile. There are simply some places here on Earth you are more supposed to be. Adore those colors together and the bare feet are a wonderful, amazing touch for me :) Lovely friend!

I really, really want to come back to Croatia and visit more islands- the Kornati are top of my wishlist with Krk and Mljet next. I spent so much time reading about them last year.We loved the Elafiti and would love to return there too! I also didn't actually get off the boat in Hvar, we just stayed onto Korcula so definitely would like to see Hvar!x

I think it should be you :) I remember you posting about Hvar before and there is so much beauty there but I can also see it being special since your grandmother's home is also there.
