Fashion illustrations of the day (red lip) / Modne ilustracije dana (crvene usne)

One evening, two fashion illustrations. I didn't use any reference. It was just me and my imagination.  You know, I'm not even sure if it is one girl or two of them. It was only after I had painted them, that I noticed that these two faces are quite similar. Perhaps it is the same girl? These two illustrations have another thing in common. Both of these girls are wearing a red lipstick- or is it one girl  wearing a red lipstick with two different outfits? Either way, it is all about the red lip. Never underestimate the power of a red lipstick.  The first outfit is a combination of a purple sheer blouse with flare sleeves and blue jeans. The bag she is wearing is a clutch. A cute outfit, perhaps not suitable for this kind of weather but with a very warm coat and an additional layer of clothing it could work just fine. Layering, layering, layering- it is still all about layering. The second outfit is a similar combination, just the top is red in this case. Alright, you can&#

Inspired by..... Barbara

Time for another Inspired by post. This is a regular feature on my blog (you can see the last feature here ). This time I'm featuring a fashion illustration of Barbara from my kind of joy blog.  I already illustrated her once ( here ), so this is my second time. The medium is watercolours on cardboard. This painting was inspired by  this look  of hers. This was a really fun outfit to illustrate, I liked it a lot. How do you like it? Vrijeme je za još jednu Nadahnuta s objavu. Ovo je redovita rubrika na mome blogu (zadnju možete vidjeti ovdje). Ovaj put dijelim modnu ilustraciju Barbare s my kind of joy bloga. Making of a fashion illustration / Crtanje modne ilustracije ( Dolce& Gabbana Spring Summer 2017)

Today I'll be sharing with you one of my recent fashion illustration. This one was inspired by Dolce & Gabbana  Spring Summer 2017 runaway look. What did I like about this look? Well, frankly I liked everything about it, from the gladiator vibe to  this gorgeous mustard green colour.  The model was also gorgeous, I don't know her name, but I love her attitude on the runway. Who wouldn't want to draw her? Who wouldn't want to illustrate something like this? Who doesn't like Dolce & Gabbana?

Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Yellow Wallpaper (book recommendation/preporuka knjiga)

Today just one quick reading recommendation. The Yellow Wallpape r is a short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It was published in 1899 (as you can see on these photographs). Here is a link to a pdf version of this text. The author's right are expired, so feel free to pass it around- it is one of advantages of reading classics:). I do consider this short story to be a classic. It tells a story of a woman who is recovering from post natal depression and is confined to her room. It is considered to one of the earliest works of American feminist literature. In its time it was a very important and ground breaking work because it shed more light on mistreatment of depression in woman (and in many ways it is still relevant), but I think that even if we put all of that aside, it is still a  great story. Even without its important historical context, the story is strong enough to stand on its own. In reality, it is a well written and touching short story. Moreover, I would say that this

Nefertiti, Michelle Moran (book review+ my illustration / ogled knjige i moja ilustracija)

I'm getting used to painting on book pages. It is a fun thing to do and it allows me to combine two things I love: reading and painting. The book I used for illustrating this time is Nefertiti by Michelle Moran. Today I will just do this one quick book review.  As I said, I'm keeping longer reviews for my other blog. It's been a while since I read Nefertiti by Michelle Moran, so recently I decided to reread it. I ended up giving up  because I concluded that the book isn't worth a reread. It isn't terrible, but it isn't very good either.  Lately I haven't had much luck with  the historical fiction genre.

Dame Iris Murdoch

Finally the weekend is here!  What are your plans for tonight? My plan is to stay in and catch up with blogs. Today's post is going to be short and sweet. Just one outfit and book recommendation. First, something about the outfit.  This kind of styling is appropriate for colder days. How to dress when it is cold? If I managed to learn something during these cold days it would be- layers, layers, layers. Cap are also a good idea. If the weather suddenly improves, you can always put your cap in the bag. The same applies to scarves and gloves. Winter accessories are not only stylish, they are also practical- they were made to keep us warm. Keep warm and take care! Book recommendation of the day? The Sandcastle by Iris Murdoch. I'm a big fan of Murdoch, she was an extraordinary novelist.  You can read my book review here . I published this one on my other blog because I decided that I will publish most of my book reviews there. All the photographs were taken in vicinity of Mostar
