Ivana's review of the Iliad by Homer (Books VIII- XVI)
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In my last post, I reviewed the first seven books of the epic poem the Iliad by Homer. This epic poem that has inspired the human kind for centuries is, as you probably know, divided into twenty four books. It is a complex work of literature, rich in meaning and content. I felt that I could not possibly do this epic poem justice with just one book review post, so I decided to divide my review into three parts. In this post, I will review books eight to sixteen. If all goes as planned, in my next post I will review books seventeen to twenty-four, so basically all of the remaining books of the Iliad . In this post, I'll use quotes from project Gutenberg, translation by Samuel Buter (for no particular reason). Honestly, the more than I read the Iliad , the more I'm moved by it.
