FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: A PEAK INTO MY SKETCHBOOK

Image
Hello dear readers and welcome to another edition of FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY, a regular feature on my blog where I share my fashion illustrations. Today we'll have a peak into one of my smaller sketchbooks. In other words, I'll show you some new fashion sketches and portraits. Nothing elaborative, just some free hand sketches and design ideas. However, I will also show you two outfits (for those of you who are more interested in clothes than sketches and art talk). Let's get started! MORE OF MY RECENT PORTRAIT ART HERE-  A STYLIZED MINI PORTRAIT SKETCH  &  5 MINI PORTRAIT  SKETCHES My fashion sketches are all about spring and summer vibes. You can see I sketched jumpsuits, skirts, dresses and tops. The colours are lively, there are some lovely red and pinks, blues, purples and greens. Hello dear readers! The weather in the month of April hasn't been exactly spring like, so I often resorted to creative layering (the outfit I will share with you today is a great example of that). I won't complain too much of the weather. We had a warm winter so I'm not surprised that spring has been cold. It's usually like that, if the winter is mild, the spring isn't warm. That's alright, we'll enjoy the warm weather once it finally arrives in May. My husband jokes that I jinxed the weather by commenting (earlier this month) that I will miss some of my winter coats. Well, I definitely won't miss them once it gets warmer, because I wore them a lot this April! Right now, I can't wait to put my winter items away. How about you? Has spring arrived where you are at yet?  You know, I've been blogging for plus eight years now. I started my blogging journey by writing about fashion and sharing my outfits. These days I blog about a variety of topics but

TRAVEL WITH MY ART #9: MALA STINIVA BAY AGAIN!

Image
Hello and welcome to ninth edition of TRAVEL WITH MY ART series. Guess what! Today we will (re) visit a destination I have already illustrated: bay Mala Stiniva on island Hvar. Can you blame me for wanting to paint this magnificent bay again? I don't think you can. This little bay is so inspiring that I might paint it all over again. I mean there are many beautiful bays and beaches on island Hvar, but this one truly took my breath away. Something about the blueness of the sea water against the whiteness of cliffs really took my breath away. Those high cliffs almost look like they were carved by human hand. A cousin of mine told me that the views are even more magnificent when you sail into this little bay. I can only imagine how it must feel to sail into Mala Stiniva bay by a boat or a yacht. We didn't sail into it, rather we used our feet but we were mesmerized all the same. Scroll down to see and read more.  I will never forget the first time I had visited bay Mala Stiniva.
