All's well that ends well (a canvas)/ Sve je dobro što se dobro svrši (jedno platno)

Hello! In this post you can see the work in process of making an oil painting. This painting was painted back when I was self-thought and still figuring things out. If you're visiting this blog for the first time, I'm an art and fashion blogger. I have been blogging about my art journey for a long time. If you browse my blog, you'll find thousands of original paintings. Island Hvar in Croatia is often the inspiration for my paintings. This church I painted here is located in Stari Grad on island Hvar.

Stari Grad on island Hvar is a beautiful historical city. Its name, meaning old city, couldn't be more appropriate. In fact, Stari Grad was formed the same year Aristotle was born in! Moreover, the connection with the ancient Greeks doesn't stop there. This city was actually formed by Greek colonists from island Paros who came here looking for a safe place to live after a natural catastrophe destroyed their homes. In this secluded bay, the ancient Greeks found both safety and beauty. They named this city Faros. This stunning port city, Aristotle's contemporary, can boast with five thousand years of continuous urban tradition. It is also an amazingly beautiful, authentic and picturesque touristic destination. More than five thousand years of urban tradition is not something you see every day.

TRAVEL WITH MY ART #35: BEACH KAMENJARA, VRBOSKA, ISLAND HVAR (CROATIA ) (modaodaradosti.blogspot.com)  2023

finished/ dovršeno

This canvas took me about two months to finish and to be quite honest I was starting to wonder if I'll ever get there. I did finish it sometime last summer and maybe I shown you a photograph of it back than. Nevertheless, I  decided to post these photographs to show all the different stages it went trough. As you can see, I made a lot of corrections in the process. The church portrayed is that of Saint Stephanus located in one of my favourite cities in Croatia, Stari Grad on the island Hvar. There is a very funny episode of Malo Misto that takes place in front of this church and I must had watched it a hundred times.

Bilo mi je potrebno oko dva mjeseca da završim ovo ulje na platnu i iskreno počela sam se već bila pitati hoću li ga ikada dovršiti. No, jesam tamo nekad prošlog ljeta, a možda sam vam ga već i pokazala tada.

  1. Hello greetings and good wishes.

It is a marvel to see how the church went through the various processes to finally take its beautiful shape. I can see you have put in a lot dedicated, determined efforts inspite of the disappointments and frustrations you faced in giving the final shape which is lovely

Your skill, determination finally succeeded in the end.

    Please accept my congratulations.

    Best wishes

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
