TRAVEL WITH MY ART #28, BASINA BAY, CROATIA (FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I will share a new watercolour painting with you.  With the help of this painting, we shall (digitally) revisit Basina bay on island Hvar (Croatia). You know, I wasn't sure whether this post belongs to  TRAVEL WITH MY ART or  FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION series. As you might know, Travel With My Art is a regular feature on my blog focused on my location and destination art. This feature enables me to share my paintings of places that inspire me. Friday Fashion Illustration is also a regular feature on my blog but it is (as the name implies)  more focused on my fashion related art and illustration. This watercolour painting can perhaps be categorized as both destination and fashion illustration. It depicts a certain location- Basina bay on island Hvar, so you could call it a landscape or a location painting. However, I'm also present in this illustration it and I'm wearing an outfit- hence it could be labelled a fashion illustration. As for the outfit I'm wearing, it's another example of shopping my closet.Today I wore this all black combo (plus a black coat) to go to pharmacy,  but I wore more sensible shoes (i.e heeled boots). These stilettos are not suitable for every day wear.

Pozdrav dragi čitatelji i kolege blogeri! U ovom postu s vama ću podijeliti novi pejzaž (akvarel na papiru). Uz pomoć ovog pejzaža ponovno ćemo (digitalno) posjetiti uvalu Basina na otoku Hvaru. Znate, nisam bila sigurna pripada li ovaj post seriji Putujte s mojom umjetnošću  ili Modnoj ilustraciji petkom. Kao što možda znate, Putujte s mojom umjetnošću redovita je rubrika na mom blogu usmjerena na moje pejzaže i ilustracije lokacija i odredišta. Ova rubrika omogućuje mi da podijelim svoje pejzaže i ilustracije mjesta koja me nadahnjuju.  Modna ilustracija petkom (Friday Fashion Illustration) je također redovita rubrika na mom blogu, ali je (kao što ime kaže) više fokusirana na moju modnu umjetnost i ilustraciju. Ovaj akvarel se može kategorizirati i kao ilustracija destinacije i kao modna ilustracija. Prikazuje određenu lokaciju - uvalu Basina na otoku Hvaru, pa bi je mogli nazvati pejzažom ili slikom lokacije. No, i ja sam prisutna na ovoj ilustraciji i nosim odjevnu kombinaciju – pa bi se to moglo reći da je ovaj akvarel modna ilustracija. Što se tiče odjeće koju nosim danas, to je još jedan primjer kupovine u vlastitom ormara. Danas sam ovo nosila za odlazak u apoteku (plus kaput naravno),  ali uz malo praktičniju obuću (čizme na petu). Ove cipele na visoki petu i nisu prikladne kao svakodnevna obuća.

LET'S HAVE A LOOK AT A PHOTOGRAPH I USED AS A REFERENCE

As a reference I used a photograph my husband took when we visited Basina bay on island Hvar back in January 2020 ( you may read and see that post here). We took quite a few lovely photographs that sunny winter day. I still remember it fondly. Now I have a painting I can hold on to as well.

I don't have a lot to say about the art process itself. It was a pretty quick watercolour sketch. The art supplies used are watercolour pencils by Staedtler  (not sponsored) and paper from some random sketchbook. I used a paper that isn't really appropriate for watercolour art because  I ran out of papers in my Staedtler mixed media sketchbook.  If you look closely, you will see that the paper got torn. It's not a big deal, though. I think I might be able to hide the tear once I frame the painting. Even if I don't, it's not a big loss. This wasn't a very ambitious painting/illustration. I'm not capable of anything ambitious right now.

    Although these shoes are not for everyday wear, they empower any woman! And as for your illustration, it's fantastic, I think that drawing nature is very different from drawing the human body, which I think is much more difficult and you did it very well!

FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective. FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY WATERCOLOUR: LONG DRESSES AND DE PROFUNDIS QUOTES!

 Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! It's almost ten. I've had a long week and I'm quite tired and sleepy. However, I'll try to wrap this post up for you tonight. What kind of post? Well, a post about art. Fashion art to be more precise.  I've been on a roll lately with my art posts.
