TRAVEL WITH MY ART #2: BAY MALA STINIVA, ISLAND HVAR, CROATIA
Hello readers! Yesterday I started a new series on my blog called Travel With my Art. The idea is to take you places with my art by sharing my location illustrations and paintings. Today I'm sharing an acrylic painting of a bay Mala Stiniva on island Hvar, Croatia. I used mixed media paper from a sketchbook to make this painting. Both the paper and the acrylics paints are from brand Royal Talens (not sponsored). I used my own photograph as a reference. Scroll bellow. If you remember I already posted about this magical bay on my blog, you can read those posts here and here.
WORK IN PROGRESS PHOTOGRAPHS
If I remember correctly, made this landscape painting while listening to an audiobook. I'm not sure how much time I spent on it, maybe a few hours. It was a relatively quick landscape painting. I might redo it some day and make a more detailed version of it. This was a nice scene to paint. I'm not sure have I done these gorgeous colours justice with my painting but I tried. Scroll to see the work in progress photographs as well as more photographs from this wonderful bay.

I love the idea of this series. You captured the essence of this place in your painting. Croatia is beautiful. I'm very keen on a lake and hill landscape, it's just stunning.

So beautiful
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures 😊
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bay! Your painting is lovely as well. You do such a great job of capturing the texture and movement of the water with your brush work.
ReplyDeleteThat really looks beautiful. I like that you aren't trying to make it look photo-perfect - you're so good at conveying the "feel" of a place, Ivana! Love this series!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Ivana! I just saw the other post from this category (the one with Kazan Church) and it is impressive! This one is more related to a natural place and that also matters when it comes to travel, mixing the best of nature and then move to city, get a contrast, get a mix, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that you can use your own references to draw this, specially since sometimes it is difficult to get the right resources that can inspire us. Sometimes I draw by mind but i think i prefer the references in order to guide myself and then I add my personal touches.
As usual I love how you draw water, looks so pure and nice!
