Fashion illustrations of the day / Modne ilustracije dana

This evening I have two fashion illustrations for you. Both of them are quite feminine and lady like. In addition, both of them are quite cozy and warm because I believe that keeping warm is as important as being stylish. Illustration on the left side depicts a lady wearing a red coat and beanie. To contrast the red there is an orange mini skirt....we won't let her catch a cold, so there are also green gloves and scarf that match quite nicely her green bag. Since she is wearing a mini skirt, she decided to wear thick tights so she can keep warm. Finally, classic black heels finish this elegant but colourful styling. Illustration on the right side doesn't lack colour either. A pair of gloves and a beanie are essential during Winter. They keep us warm and they can be a great pop of colour. Another thing that is keeping this lady warm is her long blue coat. Don't you just love wearing long coats in Winter?  I I do and I plan to wear mine tomorrow, but let's get back to our illustrations of the day. What else is this lady on the right wearing? She paired a lovely blouse with a midi skirt and finished the look with a pair of high boots with high heels. She didn't forget to add a touch of red with her bag. So, how do you like these two outfits? Is being warm as important as being stylish to you? The medium I used is once again watercolour. I find it very practical for fashion illustrations. However, to be completely honest I don't have a favourite medium for my fashion illustrations.

Ona je iskombinirala lijepu bluzu s suknjom dužine ispod koljena i sve završila s parom visokih čizmama s visokom petom, a nije zaboravila ni dašak crvene s torbicom.

  36. These are very pretty designs, dear Ivana!
They remind me that I have also liked to draw fashion designs as a very young girl (about the age of 11 to 15). I think it's good that you consider that the clothing keeps one warm - in my opinion fashion should necessarily not only be beautiful, but also practical! Of what use are shoes to me in which I can not go, winter clothes in which I'm freezing, summer clothes are light and airy is not, etc.? So it is smart to consider these points.
    Lots of hugs, Traude

February recap / sažetak veljače

You have seen (more or less) what was February like for me. Now tell me... what was February like for you? Are you happy that it's already March or do you feel like time is flying too fast? Are you looking forward to the spring?

As far as blogging goes, it seems that I have became more focused on fashion illustrations. In the next month the illustrations will have their place, but there will be more focus on DIY....or at least I think so, because I'm kind of heading in that direction. Apart from that, I have no plans. I have so many ideas when it comes to what I want to blog about, that I often have hard time deciding what not to include. As always, feel free to write about what you would like to see.

Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights post, you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.

I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. At the end of this lovely sewing course, you get to choose not only what you're going to make, but also the material and the pattern.  The sewing pattern is typically chosen from one of the sewing magazines this designer has …

How To Style Animal Print? + An Autumnal Fairy Tale at Ethno Village Near Medugorje

With winter at our doorstep, I think it's important to make the most out of the left over autumn days. With that in mind, my husband and I payed another visit to our favourite (still not officially opened!) ethno village in vicinity of Medugorje. I wrote about this eco/ethno village a number of times, so if you want to know more (or just see more photographs) feel free to check out my old posts herehereherehere and here.  Autumn is Herzegovina is always gorgeous, and this year hasn't been an exception. We had some sudden weather changes and drastic changes of temperature, but I would still describe this autumn as a beautiful one. The Sunday this photographs were taken on was rather gorgeous, so I'm certainly glad we went on this little trip. I know I'm repeating myself, but I do cherish moments like this. Every time I step into this little village, I feel as if the time has stopped or rather like I have just travelled in time. It's such a charming place! I h…
