FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: MY INSPIRATIONS
Hello readers! How are you? I'm alright, pretty much working on new art all the time. Friday is here and I have a few fashion illustrations to share with you. Three of them are fashion sketches (medium coloured pencils) and one is an aquarelle sketch. I'm also going to show you an outfit I wore for a visit to Buna river and Bunica recreational area near Mostar (last visited HERE). We visited Buna maybe a week or so ago, but I haven't posted this outfit (well, not the complete outfit anyway). This post will be short and sweet, my outfit and a few illustrations and that is that. Scroll down to see and read more.
THE FASHION SKETCH- RUNAWAY LOOK (COLOURED PENCILS ON A5 PAPER)
THE STORY OF MY OUTFIT- All of the items in this post are old and the scarf is borrowed from my husband. THE UZOR DRESS- I'm wearing a from Uzor dress (i.e. a Croatian fashion house that closed down), it's one of a kind dress too, made only in one size. When Uzor was closing, I remember the sales ladies brought this dress to me and said it was only ever made in ones site that I must have it- and fortunately I still fit in it. If you like this dress, HERE is a post with 7 ways to wear it. THE MUSTARD SWEATER- last worn here. I wore this sweater over the dress. I also wore a statement necklace that I completed with some leather touches. I used to make jewellery. You actually already saw a part of this outfit (without the puffer jacket and shoes) when I showed you illustration I made of Marisa. I remember that some of you noticed the tights I was wearing so I'll get to that in a second. TWO PAIRS OF TIGHTS- I actually layered two pair of tights in this outfit, I wore the burgundy pair underneath the black fishnet leopard tights. I really liked this little fashion experiment and I was warm too so it was a win, win! THE BIKER BOOTS- worn multiple times in this post here.
FROM MY SKETCHBOOK- TWO FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS- INSPIRED BY BLUE Classical blue was the Pantone colour of 2020. It makes sense as we often felt 'blue' in 2020. However, blue is also a gorgeous colour. In my sketches I paired it with red and pink.
CHRISTMAS INSPIRED FASHION SKETCH- This is a simple Christmas fashion sketch in festive colours: red, black and green but toned down with blue jeans. I might do a more ambitious Christmas illustration if I find the time. I have recently started some landscape paintings and that takes a lot of time to get right, so I don't know, we'll see.
WATERCOLOUR PENCILS PORTRAIT OF TWO SISTERS- Strictly speaking, this is not a fashion illustration but I'm including it because I love it. Besides, my ladies are very stylish in this one. Two sisters, but with two completely different fashion styles. I included both the coloured pencil sketch and the watercolour version (that was made by adding water obviously).

DeleteWow you drew so many drawings, I wasn't drawing for months, basically for whole 2020, I had no inspiration since the corona virus started.
ReplyDeleteI should start drawing Christmas illustrations ASAP too because I want to use it as Christmas decoration.
I looove your outfit on the last photo!
I like your mustard sweater, it's looking like something I would wear every day in autumn. I like wearing mustard in fall season!
That's a great idea, I hope you'll get to make some Christmas decor that way.

DeleteIt seems you've got quite the creative urge lately. I'm sure sketching and painting can be rather addictive and it is certainly a wonderful way to make use of your time. Wonderful fashion illustrations again, Ivana, my favourite being the girl with the wide-leg trousers, green polo neck and pink coat!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit with the one-off dress is lovely too. I love how you've combined it with mustard and burgundy and wearing the black fish nets over burgundy tights is an inspired idea!
Wishing you a wonderful Saturday evening and Sunday, Ivana xxx

That's not actually my look, that's a runaway look, I used a reference from Vogue but I forgot the name of the designer. It just accidentally looks a bit like my outfit.
DeleteYour every post is simple and adorable!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI liked to know the history of the brand of your dress!
As always your drawings are beautiful and are a kind of mirror of what you are !!
I use fishnet tights over the skin, I think it is colder there than in Portugal!
