As promised, today I'm taking you to my favourite ethno village in Herzegovina. I visited it many times (and took all of you on a virtual tour each and every time) and I'll surely be their first guest once the village is finally completed. I'm not sure when that will be because it has been under construction for years, but I'm sure it will look fantastic once it is finally completed. Sometimes the wait is worth it...we'll see.
The outfit is the same as in the last post, but you can see the necklace better as there are some close ups. In addition, I got tired of carrying this lovely vintage bag in my hand so I found another way to use this scarf. In my next post, I will show you a few other ways to wear a scarf.....
Do you want to see more visits to this ethno village in Međugorje?
Želite li vidjeti još posjeta ovom etno selu u Međugorju?

Does it make sense to make a post about an ethno village that still isn't open for business? By that I mean that it is still under construction. Moreover, I'm not even sure when you will actually be able to rent a room here. I'll let you know when I find out. That all being said, I love visiting this place. Perhaps because I'm a curious cat and I like to see what is new. Maybe because it is uncanny how much this village reminds me of all those little villages I love so much. I'm absolutely fascinated by just how well they managed to recreate everything. If I didn't know, I wouldn't have a problem believing that this is actually some really old village. So, if you find yourself at Međugorje any time soon (and since Međugorje is visited by millions of tourists every year who knows you might be one of them), take a half an hour and pay it a visit. It will not cost you anything and you can alway revisit it and stay there next time (hopefully, they will have finished it by then).
No, unatoč tome volim posjećivati ovo mjesto. Jako me fascinira kako su sve uspjeli pogoditi.

SEE MORE POSTS WITH DIY NECKLACES I MADE IN THE PAST:
I browsed my archives to find 33 posts focused on faux leather necklaces (that I often wear as head pieces or belts as well). I could have probably found a few more, but I felt 33 posts is enough. For those of you who want to have a better idea of what these DIY faux leather necklaces look like, 33 posts will be introduction enough. I still have most of these necklaces. Some of them I gifted away, but most of them are still getting worn.

Amos Oz said that when he was a child he didn't aspire to be a writer, he wanted to be a book. (books seemed to him less fragile than us humans, he said something in that sense.) I, on the other hand, could say that I wanted to a story.
Stories always fascinated me, written down or told, it didn't seem to matter...I think that might just well explain my fascination with vintage clothes. I love the stories that come with them. Sometimes, you don't know the story, as when you buy clothes at a second hand or vintage shop, but the story is nevertheless there. I think that there sense of history is what makes vintages clothes so attractive.

ReplyDeleteYou are so glam! I love your coat and the way you carry your bag, it's a great idea!;-) This is an enchanting location!

DeleteThe village in Herzegovina looks absolutely lovely. Is it inhabited or has it been recreated to give an impression of how everyday life was? xxx
ReplyDeleteit was recreated with the purpuse to be rented and also visited by tourists and locals...at least that is what happens at most eco/ethno villages I saw. I think it's great! I would love to spend a weekend in one such village.
DeleteI totally love a place with history and mystery. It would be nice to see what it looks like eventually. Your necklace is very pretty and I am anput to come over and get that mesh coat you have on :). Lovely as always.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thefashionstirfry.com
I know, this mesh coat (or long cardi) is totally awesome (as vintage pieces usually are) ...I got it from a relative quite by chance.
Deletepretty awesome!! your look, the necklace and that houses!
ReplyDeletecool use of a scarf!
will the village be a museum or is it for people to live in??? you know i have a love for old style houses :-)
xxxx
Probably the houses will be turned into apartmants that will be rented. Something like small eco hotels or apartmants.

DeleteI hope that they will eventually finish the construction of the village, it would be a huge shame if they leave it incomplete. There's something very unique and mysterious about your outfit here, I think it's because the long, fishnet looking coat. But you look lovely as you always do, Ivana.

Your outfit deserves a special compliment as well:) I'm simply in love with this outfit which you've created, it's kind of ethnic too, so special and chic!
ReplyDeletep.s. Regarding your question about my hairstyle, let me answer. I achieve such result with common overnight elastic hair rollers. I don't know how to explain, so check it out, here is a picture of such rollers:

ReplyDeleteInteresting place to visit, so atmospheric, so charming! Great outfit for wearing there - cool yet comfy. I love this black crochet...thing...Sometimes I really in confusion about the English names of garments.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what to call this either. I don't think that the problem is English, some garments are just hard to name....long summer coat/ jacket or long cardi...all of these 3 names could apply.
DeleteThis village looks such a great place. So it's a new village then? I was only in Herzegovena when we stopped on the bus from Split to Dubrovnik!x
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute ethno village! I've been to drven grad in Serbia and that was really nice too :) xx
