The painting and the outfit of the day / Slika i odjevna kombinacija dana (Gdinj, Hvar)

I think I have already shared this oil painting with you. This canvas was a gift for a family friend of mine. It depicts the new church in my grandmother's village Gdinj (in this post you can find all the links to my previous posts about this village). This new church is actually quite old, but I will talk about that some other time. The other building you can see used to be a school. Gdinj doesn't have a school anymore because there aren’t any children left. You know how it is. The state is interested in getting the money from the islands, not in investing in them or finding the ways to keep the people there. Fortunately, islands are resourceful people. They always find a way for themselves if there is a way to be found. Let's hope for the best. They have always known how to take the good with the bad.

I have loved all Croatian islands that I have visited so far. I didn’t visit all 1000 of them, but I visited many. However, there is one that has a special place in my heart and that is island Hvar. God, how I love this island. So many memories created here and I’m always longing for more. This Summer I was here with a friend of mine. We stayed in my grandmother’s house, but we’ve been to all the cities this island has got to offer (including naturally the town that bears the same name as the island).  I didn’t take any outfit photographs; I didn’t even take my cam with me. In fact, this outfit post was taken last year, but I didn't find the time to publish it before. I'm standing on the terrace of my grandmother's house in village Gdinj. This is my version of a denim on denim outfit. I'm wearing jeans and a denim vest.

Mislim da sam već podijelila ovo ulje na platnu sa vama. Ova slika je bila poklon obiteljskom prijatelju. Prikazuje novu crkvu u Gdinju, selu moje bake (u ovoj objavi možete pronaći sve poveznice na prijašnje objave o ovom mjestu). Zapravo je nova crkva u mome mjestu poprilično stara, ali o tome ću neki drugi put pisati. Na slici možete vidjeti i staru školu koja više nije škola jer u Gdinju nema djece. Znate kako je. Državu zanima kako zaraditi od otoka, a ne kako uložiti u njih ili pronaći način da se tamo ljudi zadrže. Na sreću, otočani su snalažljivi ljudi koji uvijek pronađu neku način ako taj način postoji. Nadam se da će pronaći neki način jer su uvijek znali živjeti s onom "život je na škoju i radost i tuga".

Svidjeli su mi se svi hrvatski otoci koje sam do sada posjetila. Nisam posjetila svih tisuću, ali jesam dosta. Ipak jedan ima posebno mjesto u mome srcu. Otok Hvar. Bože, kako volim ovaj otok. Toliko uspomena stvorenih tu, a uvijek čeznem za još. Ovo ljeto sam bila na otoku sa prijateljicom. Odsjeli smo kod moje bake, ali bile smo i do svakoga grada na Hvaru ( i u samom gradu Hvaru naravno). Nisam pravila nikakve fotografije, nisam čak ni ponijela kameru. Zapravo, ova odjevna kombinacija je uslikana prošle godine, ali nisam je stigla ranije objaviti. Stojim na teraci bakine kuće u selu Gdinj. Ovo je moja verzija odjevne kombinacije u kojoj glavnu ulogu igra jeans. Nosim traperice i prsluk od jeansa.
