Sights to see, places to visit / Znamenitosti za vidjeti, mjesta za posjetiti -----Goranci

My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar. I love to go there to espace the city heat. If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). If you look closely, you'll be able to see that some decorative trees are still being planted at the enterance to this park.  You can read some of my previous posts about this village here, here and here.

Možete pročitati neke moje stare objave o ovim selu ovdje, ovdje i ovdje

hat/šešir: old+diy, necklace and biceps bracelets: diy, jeans: amadeus+diy, sneakers: startas

Now, about the outfit. I'm wearing this dress as a peplum top because it is too short for me. It's one of those things I have found in the closet. Perhaps it is vintage, perhaps not, I really can't tell for sure. Do you notice the polka dots on my hat? I painted them myself with textile paints this May during my one DIY per day challange. That is not the only thing I handpainted. These Amadeus jeans I decorated in the same way.

Sama sam ih iscrtala tekstilnim bojama prošlog svibnja kada sam si zadala zadatak napraviti nešto novo svakog dana, a  i traperice Amadeus sam ukrasila na isti način.

hat/šešir: old+diy, necklace and biceps bracelets: diy, jeans: amadeus+diy, sneakers: startas

Now, about the accessories. I'm wearing two faux leather necklace that I have made recently.  Don't be confused by the fact that I'm wearing one of my necklaces as a biceps bracelet. It is always important to me that  necklaces I make can be worn in a variety of ways. By the time you finish with this post, you'll see me wearing one of my necklaces a belt. You can buy both of these necklaces for ten euros plus shipping. If you are interested, send me an email.

my husband and me/ moj muž i ja

Finally, I would love to recommend restaurant Goranci. I've dinned there many times and I have even brought friends there, so I can definitely recommend it. My husband is there even more often as it is a place where he and his friends celebrate bithdays and stuff together.

Konačno, preporučila bih i restorant Goranci. Jela sam tamo puno pura i čak sam tamo dovodila prijatelje, tako da ga stvarno mogu preporučiti. Moj muž je tamo još češće nego ja, jer često on i prijatelji tamo slave rođendane i slične prilike skupa.

  2. Dear Ivana, hello you two :)
This seems to be really a lovely village and I'm impressed that you can rent a bike for free there. I can imagine it is wonderful here to have a rest from the heat in the town ... and the restaurant seems to be also a place where staying is comfortable.
You are so creative, dear Ivana, and the necklaces you did by your own are amazing and so versatile. Like also the pants and the trousers you painted and it is a cool idea to wear the dress as top.
Wish you already today a wonderful weekend!

  34. You are so much better than a guide book and I can't help feeling that the tourist board for your region should recognise how much you make your readers want to visit the places you reveal for us!
Also, as I may have said before, I love the idea of a 'one DIY a day challenge'. Such creative spark.

    1. I'm afraid the tourist board is not interested in collaborating, but well at least I'm enjoying writing these posts:) One DIY per day was a great challange, it really opened my mind for new possibilities.

Your dress is very cute, but I do agree, it is too short to wear it as a dress. Very good idea to wear as a peplum. Love your selfpaintet hat and your DIY necklace. Once again you look charming!

February recap / sažetak veljače

You have seen (more or less) what was February like for me. Now tell me... what was February like for you? Are you happy that it's already March or do you feel like time is flying too fast? Are you looking forward to the spring?

As far as blogging goes, it seems that I have became more focused on fashion illustrations. In the next month the illustrations will have their place, but there will be more focus on DIY....or at least I think so, because I'm kind of heading in that direction. Apart from that, I have no plans. I have so many ideas when it comes to what I want to blog about, that I often have hard time deciding what not to include. As always, feel free to write about what you would like to see.

Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights post, you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.

I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. At the end of this lovely sewing course, you get to choose not only what you're going to make, but also the material and the pattern.  The sewing pattern is typically chosen from one of the sewing magazines this designer has …

How To Style Animal Print? + An Autumnal Fairy Tale at Ethno Village Near Medugorje

With winter at our doorstep, I think it's important to make the most out of the left over autumn days. With that in mind, my husband and I payed another visit to our favourite (still not officially opened!) ethno village in vicinity of Medugorje. I wrote about this eco/ethno village a number of times, so if you want to know more (or just see more photographs) feel free to check out my old posts herehereherehere and here.  Autumn is Herzegovina is always gorgeous, and this year hasn't been an exception. We had some sudden weather changes and drastic changes of temperature, but I would still describe this autumn as a beautiful one. The Sunday this photographs were taken on was rather gorgeous, so I'm certainly glad we went on this little trip. I know I'm repeating myself, but I do cherish moments like this. Every time I step into this little village, I feel as if the time has stopped or rather like I have just travelled in time. It's such a charming place! I h…
