Yellow Riding Hood / Žutokapica

Yellow Riding Hood....I'm living my autumn fairy tale at the moment. I'm letting the beauty of Autumn mesmerize me and I'm spending as much time outdoors as possible. Recently I visited Čapljina. It is a small city in region of Herzegovina. Everyone is always talking about it, saying it is the perfect city for taking a stroll. That's quite correct actually. For my part, I can say that I always enjoy taking a stroll here. Plus, I took the chance to check out one newly reopened cake house. This little city has an interesting history. Apparantly, it was founded by ancient Romans in fifth century BC. Its name  is derived from 'čaplja', which in Croatian means haron. This is no accident because in vicinity of this city, you will find bird reservoir and nature park Hutovo blato.  Haron is only one of the  bird that can be seen here. Now, I posted about Hutovo blato quite frequently, so instead of repeting myself, I will leave you a few links. (here, here, and here

Žutokapica....živim svoju jesensku bajku sada. Dopuštam ljepoti jeseni da me očara i provodim što više vremena vani. Nedavno sam bila u Čapljini, malom gradu u Hercegovini.

  16. 'Living an autumn fairytale' - YES - that's exactly the right description for cramming in as much of autumn into ones senses as absolutely possible. Love the photos on the bench too - what serendipity to find such a perfect (and autumnal) colour match between the benches and your hooded top.

  17. I'm with you on living in an autumn fairytale. It's one of the prettiest times of the year and we should definitely enjoy and make the most of it before it all goes away and gets cold :) This looks like another charming city and it definitely has some interesting history as well.

HOW TO STYLE RED CLOTHING ITEMS FOR WINTER?

A few posts ago (yes, bloggers calculate time in post activity), I wrote about red accessories for winter but I also wanted to write about red clothing items you can wear this time of year. In fact, I was planning to write a big post about wearing red in winter but I realized that I need to split it in two because it was too long. Apparently, I have a lot to say about why wearing red in winter is a good idea. So, today I'll basically post the part two of my red in winter fashion musings. Red is a bold, energetic and dramatic colour. If you ask me, wearing red is a great way to invoke good luck in our new year. You can pair red with neutral colours to tone it down or with vibrant ones to make your outfits even more noticeable. Lunar Year festivities are a perfect time to embrace the red clothing items. Moreover, Valentine's Day is not too far off either. If you're looking for some winter red outfit inspiration, you have come to the right place. HOW TO WEAR RED IN WINTER?   My…

READING UPDATE: KAZUO ISHIGURO, THE BURIED GIANT AND MORE

Hello dear readers, how's life treating you? It's time for another reading update on my blog. You guys know that I'm a bookworm and a reading addict, right? Today I have a couple of book reviews to share with you. I'll be reviewing four books (more precisely: two novels and two short story collections). It's a mixed crowd of writers that I'm reviewing, from Nobel winning Kazuo Ishiguro to some other well known authors. So, let's get started. Scroll down to read my opinion of these books.  THE BURIED GIANT, A NOVEL BY KAZUO ISHIGURO 5/5 Having seen a fascinating interview with mr. Ishiguro about this very book, I had high expectations for The Buried Giant. I'm happy to report that my expectations were fulfilled. Once again, Kazuo Ishiguro impressed me his subtle and beautiful writing. This novel is a masterpiece. The Buried Giant is very moving tale of an elderly couple in search for their lost past. Axl and Beatrix share a strong connection, but just lik…

10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I…
