5 DECEMBER OUTFITS+ A MINI FASHION RECAP OF YEAR 2021

Hello dear readers! How's life treating you? I hope you're enjoying yourselves. I still find it hard to believe that year 2022 is just days away. 2021 was an odd year, I'm not sure what to make of it. One of those years when time seemed to either fly by at record speed or to stand perfectly still. Like I said, it was an odd year. Like most years (or even some days), it was a mixture of good and bad. Well, I guess sometimes all we can do is to count our blessings and try to keep our heads up. Today I'll share with you five December outfits I haven't shared yet.  We'll also do a little fashion recap (by seasons). Let's start with these five December outfits.

OUTFIT #1: PINK AND GREY TONES
I loved wearing this cute and feminine outfit. The combination of pink and grey works well. Who says you cannot wear floral pattern in winter?

OUTFIT #3: HIGH BOOTS, JEANS AND A PUFFER
Here's another comfortable winter styling with some of my fav items. I wore it for walk in the park.

THE BURGUNDY BAG HERE

OUTFIT #4: VINTAGE JEANS AND BLAZER
This pair of vintage jeans is one of my favourites.  A while back, I painted a floral pattern on one leg with textile paints. The pattern is still there and I love it. I like how it matched the red floral pattern on this lovely one of a kind bag I bought from a wonderful seamstress in Jelsa on island Hvar. I also wore a red top that isn't really visible and and a blazer from fashion house Nebo.

OUTFIT #5:'BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE'CHIC
It was so cold and windy when I wore this outfit. I had to wrap my scarf around by head to survive the wind. Still, I got to enjoy the view of beautiful Adriatic sea, so it was worth it. Split is beautiful in winter time too. I already linked all of these clothing items beside the trousers (HERE), they are from fashion house Uzor (that no longer exists). I've had them for years and I love wearing them.

FASHION RECAP OF YEAR 2021 (BY SEASONS)

As the year is coming to an end, I thought it might be fun to do a little fashion recap by seasons. I cannot say they were any big (or even small) changes in my style this year. Most of the time I like to wear vivid colours or patterns, but sometimes I also wear monochrome outfits. I still prefer dresses and skirts to pants, but I have been wearing jeans more lately. Another thing that hasn't changed is that I always enjoy shopping my closet. I rarely buy anything these days. In fact, I bought only a handful of items this year. Besides the summer haul in Stanka Zovko store, I bought two dress in Amadeus store and a long floral cardigan in Mana store. That's about it. I might have picked up another long sleeved t-shirt or two but that's really it. I wasn't on shopping ban or anything like that in 2021, I just didn't feel like buying clothes.

WINTER 2021

Winter 2021 was all about colour and patterns. While I did wear some plain dark outfits, I preferred vivid colours. In fact, even with darker looks, I still accessorized with fun scarves or caps.

SPRING 2021
Spring was all about patterns and colours too! As spring started cold, I often wore patterned jackets or coloured coats. Once it got warmer, I often went for either white/light or vivid tonalities. I didn't really make any particularly interesting style choices this spring that I can remember, but I do remember having fun with clothes and that's what matters the most.

SUMMER 2021
The summer was all about dresses and skirts but I also reached for jumpsuits and leggings now and then. I tend to shop my closet, but I did pick up a few new pieces this summer from a local fashion designer Stanka Zovko. Those purchases have already payed off because I got lots of wear from them.

AUTUMN 2021
I ended up wearing a lot of my summer dresses in Autumn too. I often wore my Stanka Zovko items in Autumn as well. Another summer purchase I continued wearing this Autumn is a pale blue dress from Amadeus (a Croatian brand).  As Autumn moved towards its end, I started to wear jeans more.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Happy holidays and all the best in 2022 to you!

Your 2021 fashion recap is a sight to behold. What a wonderful round-up of seasonal colourful outfits.
2021 was a strange year indeed. Like any year, there was both good and bad, but this year, and at this very moment, it seems I can mainly remember the bad bits. I do believe 2022 can only be better. Wishing you a happy and healthy year, Ivana! xxx

  14. I love the bright colours and excellent layering in all your outfits! You look so chic. My favourite garment is your beautiful blue Amadeus dress and also that lilac coord is gorgeous in all its iterations! Have you seen the new West Side Story? The two dresses remind me of Maria's outfits!

  15. How right you are, dear heart. "Odd" is an excellent (and entirely apt) way of describing the past twelve months (to say nothing of the year that proceeded them, too).

I very much agree as well that there was a distinct duality between time passing faster than the speed of light and feeling slower than a snail riding a turtle.

September and October in particular whizzed by for me, but then (for a multitude of reasons), November was almost agonizingly slow. December has been somewhere in between.

What a fantastic recap of some of your fashion highlights that spanned the pages of this year's calendar, so to speak. You are a true stylista and an inspiration to scores of folks around the world - both in terms of what you wear as well as your art, blogging, book reviews and more.

Big hugs from super cold Western Canada,

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
