Fashion illustration of the day / Modna ilustracija dana (bikini)


It is certainly not too early to start thinking about beachwear. Spring will be here before we know it. Those of you who follow me on Instagram have already had the chance of seeing this illustration. This olive bikini I illustrated is from Lucy Bea, an  independent designer from USA (check out her site here). She has some cute designs on her page. This fashion illustration was my entry for a giveaway. This was the first time I entered a giveaway of this kind, it was fun. Anyway, the medium is watercolour on paper. Sorry for the quality of images, the lighting conditions haven't been that great, you know rainy days.... That's all for today. Have a lovely weekend!


Svakako nije prerano da počnemo razmišljati o kupaćima. Proljeće će stići ovdje prije nego što se snađemo. Oni od vas koji me prate na Instagramu su već imali priliku vidjeti ovu ilustraciju. Ovaj maslinasti bikini koji sam ilustrirala je od neovisne američke dizajnerice  Lucy Bea (njena stranica ovdje). Ima stvarno slatkih kreacija. Ova modna ilustracija je bila moja prijava za darivanje. Ovo mi je bio prvi put da sam se priključila nekom takvom darivanju. Bilo je zabavno. Uglavnom, medij su vodene boje na papiru. Žao mi je zbog loše kvalitete slika, prirodno svjetlo baš i nije nešto zadnjih dana, kišni dani i tako to....  To bi bilo sve za danas. Ugodan vikend vam želim!

    That is a cute bikini! :) With my post-pregnancy body I can't fit into any of my bikini tops...haha. I'm lucky I have the bikini I wore in pregnancy that still fits. Hopefully once I've stopped breastfeeding I'll be able to get back into my large bikini collection! :)

      I can imagine. I gained some weight recently so I'm not sure how I will fit into my summer bikinis either.

    A wonderful illustration! You so rarely see fashion illustrations of swimwear and/or lingerie and so it's lovely to see your interpretation of this gorgeous olive design. You're quite right too about Spring being just around the corner, meaning Summer is just a stretch away - I can't wait for warmer, sunnier days!!

      you're right! You don't see them that often. I only did one bikini illustration prior to this, my reference being one ad from Calzedonia.

    Ja volim letnje teme u svako doba godine :) Bikini je stvarno presladak! Boja i model su savršeni, a trakice ga čine posebno zanimljivim. Tvoja verzija je fenomenalana! Tako si sve verno prikazala, a uz tvoj prepoznatljiv stil. Mislim da nije lako postići obe karaktersitike ;)

    Lucy Bea has some really great designs. I clicked and noticed she's out of Napa, Cali. We are literally neighbors as she's only an hour away from me. Speaking of Spring, you jinxed it cos it felt just a tad Springy today.I even used the air conditioner today for the first time this year. It'd probably be cold again tomorrow but at least we enjoyed today.

    Another fabulous illustration! I love seeing the inspiration right next to it and you were spot on! Simply amazing Ivana!

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. READING MAUPASSANT, WEARING OZZ (BOOK REVIEW AND OUTFIT POST)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers. This post is going is going to combine literature and fashion. One could say that's a pretty common combination on my blog. When I post my book reviews, I like to add in some fashion images as well.  In this post, I'll share a review for a few short story written by Maupassant, a French author. I'll also show you some cute outfits I wore, so let's get started.  I'm sharing two outfits today, both of them have a touch of metallic in them. One of them is a more romantic lilac outfit worn with a silver cropped top, while the other is an all black look completed with a vintage black vest with golden imitation pearls. I think the vintage vest really added something to that look. Similarly, the silver cropped top complemented the lilac dress and skirt pretty well. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? TRAVEL WITH MY ART #38: BUNA CANALS (BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share a quick acrylic landscape painting of mine. I used one of my own photographs as a reference for this painting. The location is Buna canals, a nature monument located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's a truly magical place, and I'll tell you all about it in a bit, but first a few words about the art in question.  I painted this landscape a year or two ago, and I actually ended up gifting it. To be completely honest, I do miss it.  I'm quite generous with gifting my art, but I do occasionally end up missing a piece or two. OZZ STUDENTS' FASHION SHOW, MENTOR FASHION DESIGNER STANKA ZOVKO (MOSTAR INTERNATIONAL FAIR)

EN  Hello! Today I'm happy to share with you a wonderful fashion show I attended last Friday at Mostar International Fair. As you might remember, I regularly visit Mostar International Fair.  Anyhow, this time I was there to see and support a  really special fashion show. This fashion show showed creations from students who attended a fashion sewing and design course held by designer Stanka Zovko. If you remember, a few years back  I attended this sewing and design course myself. I was invited to present my creations as well. I couldn't participate myself this year due to previous engagements, but who knows maybe next year I'll get the chance. How amazing would it be to participate as a fashion designer? Still, I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was just to  attend this fashion show and see all the designs.  It was such a terrific experience. HR Zdravo!
