Fashion illustration of the day / Modna ilustracija dana (bikini)

It is certainly not too early to start thinking about beachwear. Spring will be here before we know it. Those of you who follow me on Instagram have already had the chance of seeing this illustration. This olive bikini I illustrated is from Lucy Bea, an  independent designer from USA (check out her site here). She has some cute designs on her page. This fashion illustration was my entry for a giveaway. This was the first time I entered a giveaway of this kind, it was fun. Anyway, the medium is watercolour on paper. Sorry for the quality of images, the lighting conditions haven't been that great, you know rainy days.... That's all for today. Have a lovely weekend!

  1. That is a cute bikini! :) With my post-pregnancy body I can't fit into any of my bikini tops...haha. I'm lucky I have the bikini I wore in pregnancy that still fits. Hopefully once I've stopped breastfeeding I'll be able to get back into my large bikini collection! :)

Good luck with the competition you drew this for too! :)

Hope you have a great weekend :)

  8. A wonderful illustration! You so rarely see fashion illustrations of swimwear and/or lingerie and so it's lovely to see your interpretation of this gorgeous olive design. You're quite right too about Spring being just around the corner, meaning Summer is just a stretch away - I can't wait for warmer, sunnier days!!

  17. Lucy Bea has some really great designs. I clicked and noticed she's out of Napa, Cali. We are literally neighbors as she's only an hour away from me. Speaking of Spring, you jinxed it cos it felt just a tad Springy today.I even used the air conditioner today for the first time this year. It'd probably be cold again tomorrow but at least we enjoyed today.

Another fabulous illustration! I love seeing the inspiration right next to it and you were spot on! Simply amazing Ivana!

I think, this year I might, though. It's all about finding one that suits you best, so I've been hunting for that perfect bikini! <3 xoxo

WHAT DRESS TO CHOOSE THIS AUTUMN? SPECIAL OCCASION OUTFIT IDEAS

As I mentioned in one of my last post, I'm already thinking about what I might wear for all those festive occasions that are coming up. Autumn and Winter both have its fair share of festivities. Our social calendar can be quite busy this time of year with all the meetings, events, festivities, celebrations, family and work parties. Some of these social occasions come with a black tie dress code, so I decided to prepare some outfit ideas.  A bit of formal wear inspiration for  my readers. All of these photographs were taken the day before yesterday. We're enjoying a rather warm Autumn in Herzegovina but these outfits I'm sharing can be easily be adapted for colder weather. Just throw a warm coat or a blazer over them, and that would be that.  That's what I plan to do once it gets colder. Anyhow, all four dresses I'll be sharing with you today are from Rosegal. This is my second collaboration with this site, if you want you can have a look at my first one here. With…

Fashion Illustration Friday: Inspired by Colours of Autum

Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday talk. We'll talk autumn and share some new autumn inspired fashion illustrations & outfits. Autumn is a season with one of the most beautiful colour palettes. Just think about all those gorgeous gold and red leaves! Even the fruits of Autumn are visually stunning, for example the delicious and juicy fruits such as pomegranates and grapes. With so much to appeal to our senses, it's hard not to be appreciative of autumn. It is a stunning season indeed, so small wonder I was inspired to create some fashion art. Scroll down to see and read more.

AUTUMN COLOUR COMBOS TO CONSIDER
Besides enjoying the colours of autumn, I sure love wearing colour in autumn, and that's what I'll write about today. Whether we're talking about accessories or clothes, a bit of colour can take us a long way. Here are some illustrated & photographed colour combos to consider.

HOW TO STYLE TARTAN IN A CASUAL WAY? OUTFIT PROPOSALS + FASHION ILLUSTRATION

I was thinking about why I like tartan pattern so much, when one reason crossed my mind. I figured that it probably has something to do with the history and the culture behind this particular pattern. After all, I always say that traditional and folklore clothing (be it original or reproduced) carries additional value. Traditional patterns can be such an wonderful source of inspiration. Traditional patters have soul to them, one might say. The history of tartan is particularly interesting. Today we mostly associate tartan with Scotland, but according to some historians, tartan like fabrics were used by ancient Celtic populations spreading across the British Isles as early as the sixth and the eight century BC. Well, that one old pattern for sure! However, even if tartan clothes are really as old as ancient Celts, it is the still Scotland that is responsible for tartan we know today. Did you know that different tartan patterns can represent different Scottish families? Something like …
