FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: COLOURED PENCIL SKETCHES

Happy Friday! It's time for another FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY here on this little digital place to call my own. How are you doing lovely people? Are you glad it's Friday? I certainly am. This Friday I'll share some new sketches with you. Nothing fancy, just some pencil sketches.  I'm more focused on landscape paintings these days, but I always sneak in some time to practice portraits or sketch an outfit or two. If I had to describe my fashion illustration style, I would probably have a hard time doing so. I'm always experimenting and learning new things. I often experiment with different medias when it comes to fashion illustration. Moreover, I illustrate different things and subjects. From runaway looks to outfits worn by bloggers or friends , from editorials to outfits I wore myself, from my own designs to designer looks. I'm always changing things up and trying to express my creative energy.

a
I sketched these drawings in a few minutes. There are some portrait sketches here, a girl wearing a green bodysuit and two girls in dresses (both of them are turning around and holding something- one is holding a phone, the other a sword). I don't like to repeat the poses, I'm always looking for new body positions to draw. I think this pencil sketch of a lady with a sword is very promising. I might turn it into a painting some day or develop this concept a bit more. The body position was inspired by a L'oreal commercial but of course I changed everything so I cannot say I was  exactly using a reference. It was more a loose inspiration than anything.

My last post in this category was all about painting on hardboard.  Before that I re-imagined my magenta coat as a dress and illustrated it that way in this post. I also illustrated a forest a little bit. Sometimes I like to make the location a part of my fashion illustration. You can also peak into my recent sketches in this sketchbook art post.  You can find even more illustrations from my sketchbook here

Speaking of my old fashion illustrations, I realized that I have already illustrated this black A-line dress. For this post, I styled it with a grey and a red blazer. I cannot decide what version I prefer.  I'm going to try to get to plus thirty wear with this dress. Wish me luck!

Is there an illustrating style you prefer? What kind of illustrations would you like to see in my Fashion Illustration Friday feature? Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a fabulous weekend ahead!

  11. It's really cool that you do all these different types of illustrations and use different types of medium as well. The fact that you're always experimenting with different techniques probably keeps the process fresh and is never boring. I always enjoy when you detail your artistic processes.

  12. Hey Ivana,

Such a nice way to portrait all these wonderful sketches and illustrations! Actually I think you did a good work by curating pieces that look really good together (due to the colors or shapes in the lines) and then adding your looks.

I love that you're always experimenting with new formats and techniques! You're an artist that inspire me daily so thanks for that!

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
