20 WAYS TO STYLE AN A-LINE LBD (4 SEASONS)

 Hello dear readers! As the title would imply, this post is all about styling a clothing item multiple ways. The focus of today's post is one black square neck A-line dress. I think most of us have at least one little black dress in our closet. It's one of those essential pieces. I have quite a few little black dresses in my closet and I always seem to be getting new ones. They are truly a wardrobe essential and an item you can easily build your outfits on. Today I'm sharing two outfits I have worn recently featuring this LBD . Moreover, in this post I'll also be sharing different ways I've worn this little black dress in the past. I've had a lot of fun wearing this dress so far. That's my favourite thing about clothes, creating stories with them. 

 I have actually worn this little black dress twice last week.  It was rocking this dress again that made me realize that I'm probably close to 30 wear with this particular item or even possibly over that number. Speaking of that, the thirty ways challenge is really a great way to turn yourself into a sustainable fashionista. I don't photograph all of my outfits, so it is possible I'm over 30 wears with this particular dress. For example, I distinctly remember wearing it to a work dinner, but I didn't share those photographs.  What I do know for sure is that I have worn it more than twenty times as there is photographed evidence of that here on this little place to call my own. 

SUMMER TO AUTUMN STYLING IDEAS- TWO OUTFITS I WORE LAST WEEK

OUTFIT NUMBER #1- LBD STYLED WITH GOLD ACCESSORIES 
This was my date night outfit. I paired this dress with black high heels, a pair of black tights and a mini black bag. I accessorized with a golden accessories: a belt, a pair of earrings and a necklace. Gold and black is a lovely colour combo, don't you agree? 


OUTFIT NUMBER #2 LBD LAYERED WITH A BLACK SHIRT AND LEGGINGS
Below is an outfit I wore for a lunch date yesterday. This was actually my work outfit. It was raining yesterday so I layered this dress with black leggings, boots and a shirt. I wore my one of the kind  sailor bag because I needed a bag I can find all my books in.  I call it a sailor bag because it makes me think of sails on a sailing boat.

Don't you just love a dress that can be worn for all four seasons? What is also interesting about this particular dress is that I have illustrated it multiple times! Yes, this dress inspired a couple of my fashion illustrations.

5 EASY WAYS TO STYLE A LBD MULTIPLE WAYS- These fashion tricks can be applied to most dresses, not to little black ones. By styling our dresses in different ways, we can build a more sustainable closets for ourselves. By layering our dresses, we can turn them into items that can be worn for all four seasons!

1. LAYER IT BY WEARING A TOP OR A SHIRT OVER OR UNDER IT
2. WEAR A NICE BLAZER OR JACKET OVER IT
3. ACCESSORIZE IT WITH STATEMENT BELTS, SCARVES NECKLACES, BRACELETS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES

I organized the visual representation of twenty ways I wore this dress in collages but I also wanted to highlight some outfits. So, I'm sharing a couple of outfit suggestions for every season!

FOUR SEASON- WINTER STYLING IDEAS
How do I style this dress for winter? I layer it as much as possible. I often wear turtlenecks, sweaters and blazer with it. I usually finish my winter outfits with a coat a nice warm hat. If it is really cold, I make sure I'm wearing sensible shoes that is -a pair of warm boots.

FOUR SEASONS AUTUMN STYLING IDEAS
How do I style this dress for autumn? I layer it, but I typically don't wear a warm coat or a puffer. Instead I layer it with jackets, blazers and shirts. I typically still opt for boots, either ankle ones or high ones. Naturally, if the weather is warmer I might wear a nice pair of heels or stilettos.

When it comes to layering this dress for spring, I typically wear it with nice blouses, shirts or tops. Depending on my mood, I either pair it with sneakers for a more casual look or with heels for a more dressed up one.

When it comes to summer, I often wear this dress without layers. I might wear a pair of tights (I do wear those in summer as well), but that's about it. Depending on the occasion,  I like to wear this dress with both sandals and heels, sneakers and driving loafers.

    This is a classic little black dress, Ivana! it's also a great example of a dress that is perfect for both layering over AND under, so that you can extend it to a 4-seaon dress. I have a few LBDs myself!

    I love that you went this time for a classic timeless piece. A little black dress should be in every woman's wardrobe and it is the best way to have a good outfit despite the season or situation.

    I love the way you styled many of the outfits... well I liked every option! Each one has an interesting twist that could be styled in many other ways depending on the accessories.

 Hello! In this post, I'll share a sustainable baby blue and leopard spring styling. A pale blue might not be the first choice with leopard, but why not? For me leopard print is sort of a classic. I actually love to pair it with all kinds of colours, from more vibrant ones to pales ones. In the past, I paired it with cobalt blue . I definitely do not feel that leopard should be worn only with neutral colours. THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. I needed to emotionally process the story.   The Island of Missing Trees is   set in London and Cyprus. Sights to see, places to visit / Znamenitosti za vidjeti, mjesta za posjetiti -----Goranci

My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar.  I love to go there to espace the city heat.  If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). I've been living as an expat in Bosnia and Herzegovina for almost a decade now. During this rather long period of time, I've discovered many wonderful places that I learned to treasure and appreciate. I wrote about most of them here in this little place I can my own. Still, some places are more special than others. It is hard to say why. Some reasons remain mysterious of the heart. Maybe life is more interesting that way. We don't always have to know everything. Sometimes we fall in love with places just the way we fall in love with people. All I can say is that Hutovo Blato is one of those special places. I've fallen in love with it during my first visit. Maybe it's the sea child in me that's feeling (and missing) the Adriatic? After all, the Adriatic is not far from here. OZZ STUDENTS' FASHION SHOW, MENTOR FASHION DESIGNER STANKA ZOVKO (MOSTAR INTERNATIONAL FAIR)

EN  Hello! Today I'm happy to share with you a wonderful fashion show I attended last Friday at Mostar International Fair. As you might remember, I regularly visit Mostar International Fair.  Anyhow, this time I was there to see and support a  really special fashion show. This fashion show showed creations from students who attended a fashion sewing and design course held by designer Stanka Zovko. If you remember, a few years back  I attended this sewing and design course myself. I was invited to present my creations as well. I couldn't participate myself this year due to previous engagements, but who knows maybe next year I'll get the chance. How amazing would it be to participate as a fashion designer? The arrival of spring has been bittersweet. On one hand, it is always beautiful to watch the rebirth of nature, but on the other there is so much anxiety, fear and suffering in the world right now. Perhaps the outfit I'm wearing today is a good metaphor for that. An all black look with some colourful accents. Sometimes I look around me and marvel at all the beauty and yet at the same time I'm aware that dark times might well be ahead of us. Darkness and Light .
