13 WAYS TO STYLE A GREEN DRESS
Hello dear readers and/or fellow bloggers. Today I'm back with one of those posts where I show you X ways to wear an item. The clothing item of the day is a seaweed green dress with a subtle floral pattern. The pattern on this dark green dress is quite lovely, but that's not the only reasons why I love it. The material it's made of is a bit on a warm side, so I often wear it during the colder months as well. A dress with such a simple cut is ideal for layering. I wear it all the year around. This dress has been in my closet for years. It's by a small local Croatian brand (perhaps better to call it a small business) Moda in. I have quite a few of Moda in items, they've got such cute and yet very affordable stuff.
Back in April (or March, not entirely sure on that one), I wore this seaweed green dress for hiking in Vrboska, island Hvar. I like how my outfit matches the colours of my surroundings, it wasn't intentional. I paired this dress with white 'ugly' sneakers and a pale blue shirt. It was a cute and comfortable spring styling. It made me think of how many times I have worn this dress. You know I like to wear everything in my closet a minimal of 30 times and preferably more. I enjoy creating stories with clothing items and shopping my closet. Plus, 30 wears per an item rule is good for sustainability and the environment. I'm pretty sure it's more than 30 times, but I only found around a dozen outfits on my blog. I don't photograph my looks on daily basis, though. I'll share some of my previous outfits with this dress.
12 WAYS TO STYLE A GREEN DRESS
Bellow you can see how I wear this dress in various seasons. Starting with a summer styling (heeled mules, scarf and a belt) featured in my the art of layering a dress in summer post and moving onto spring, autumn and winter outfits. As you can see bellow, I enjoy layering this dress. I often wear a shirt or a blouse of some kind under it. I like to wear it with blazers and coats as well. Just like the previous item I blogged about, this dress is easy to style up and down. All you need to dress it up are some dressy and chic accessories or a pair of heels. Similarly, it looks great worn with sneakers. It's a great dress indeed. I'm looking forward to figuring more ways to style it.
Spring has been fashionably late this year. It arrived later than usual. We had a warm winter, so I'm not surprised. This arrival of spring has been bittersweet in itself, with the epidemic and everything. In some countries life is slowly returning to normal, while in other places the corona virus is still reaching its peak. However, at the end of the day, we all struggle one way or the other. Undoubtedly we'll all be affected by this, sooner or later. I'm not sure I have anything relevant to contribute to the subject. Who knows what will happen next? I'm trying to be responsible with my choices. Truth be told, my daily routine hasn't changed much since life has returned to the 'new normal'. I'm still working from home and when I'm done with work, I try to find time for hikes in the nature. I try to do my best with online teaching. There's not much else going on at the moment. Work is keeping me pretty occupied. Cafes and most stores are open again, life is returning to 'new normal' but for the time being I think I'll keep having my cup of coffee on my balcony and avoid unnecessary socializing.
Thanks for your sharing 😊

Hey Ivana, hope you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a peculiar garment since the fabric reminds me of fall/winter clothes, but the shape and cut of the dress calls for spring and warmest months right? Anyway I think it is a versatile piece and you could play with it in many occasions.
Love that you took it to the beach, it is definitely the most unexpected spring piece ;)

DeleteThis is the way it should be: buying a quality made artesian item and getting wear out of it and being creative and wearing it so many different ways. This is very French or should I say European. I feel like the States is much more about one and done. Though lately there has been a movement away from fast fashion.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did here! And wow I must say again how beautiful Croatia looks, reminds me of the PNW of the U.S only more sun!

DeleteAnother wonderful versatile piece from your closet, dear Ivana! Even better it is from a Croatian brand (or business). I love this shade of green in general and as usual also the styles you show and have worn with this dress. I think having such a piece in the own closet makes decisions in the context of what to wear much easier :) Have a happy weekend, today in Bavaria it is a holiday (Father's Day).
