3 Ways To Wear a Pair of Cropped Pants

How do you feel about wearing cropped pants? I'm a big fan and I know I'm not the only one. There are many advantages to wearing cropped pants. Some say that the reason why cropped pants make us look slimmer is because they showcase the thinnest part of our legs- the ankles. I've never really thought about it that way. I first started wearing cropped pants because I had problems finding the right size. So, I would buy regular pants but they would look cropped on me. I think that's the case with this pair of pants. I had this pair of ages, I wear it often but I bought it by mistake. They weren't cropped as such, it's just what happens when a girl who is 5 feet 9 buys a S size. I usually don't buy pants in small size, but this was the only pair they had and I bought it without looking at the size label  and because I was wearing boots so I didn't realize they were cropped. Fast forward to today, I'm happy I bough this pair of pants. Another advantage to this particular cut is that it allows you to showcase your shoes. So, if you have a gorgeous pair of shoes that you can't wait to show to the world, cropped pants are a great choice. Today I'll share with you 3 outfits featuring one grey pair of cropped pants.

OUTFIT NO.1 Cropped pants styled with a floral ruffled shirt and chunky heels.

This floral shirt with ruffles has been my saviour for years. I always put it on when I want to add femininity to any outfit. What is more romantic than ruffles, right?  I think it works well with these pants, but next time I will try tucking this shirt in. I just think that a tucked in shirt is often more flattering, especially combined with a high waist (high rise) pants. If the shoes look look familiar, it is because I've actually wore these heels (paired with these socks) (here) but I liked the combination so much that I had to repeat it.

OUTFIT NO. 2 Cropped pants worn with a red blouse and a peep toe heels

In this outfit, the grey pants are contrasted with a vibrant red blouse, but I think this combination  of colours works very well. Grey is such an underestimated colour. Anyhow, here I tucked in this shirt and I think it looks better worn that way. I paired the cropped pants with peep toe heels. Supposedly peep toe heels make our legs look longer. I'm not sure if that is true, I just read it someplace. I opted for a hat because the sun was really strong that day. Perhaps I choose this one because the beige details match the ones on shoes. I honestly can't remember, but it is possible because I love to match accessories.  Sometimes I like to play with unexpected colour combinations, but more often I have fun colour coordinating. How about you? Do you like colours? If yes, how do you wear them?

OUTFIT NO. 3 Cropped pants worn with a cropped shirt and wedges

This is my third outfit for today. It is also my first time this year wearing sandals, and it feels good. I did wear some peep toe shoes, but that's not really the same. Anyway, besides these lovely wedges I had for ages, I paired these cropped pants with a white shirt. The shirt is tied in such a way that it looks cropped, but not much skin is showed. (Trust me, you don't want to see what my stomach looks like after resection surgery.) I did a lot of DIY work on this shirt. I first altered it and then I hand painted it. I think it looks pretty cute now.

  9. Wow, you have really outdone yourself in this post! I love how you showed us how you style the cropped pants. The flares and cut bring some nostalgia to me as I used to wear something like this back in the day. I don't have this particular styling in my current closet and I'm thinking of getting me some cropped pants. I am especially taken in by the second outfit as I just love that floral shirt and the peep-toe heels on you. So chic! Also, thank you for showing us the springtime there, it's so picturesque. I hope you are feeling well and continue recovering from fever if you're still down. *smiles* <3

  12. I love the three ways you styled the trousers! I have similar problems to you being 5 foot 8.5! I do like cropped trousers-my favourite ones are some cute cat embroidered ones from Miss Patina- it is so nice to wear those-so you can benefit from the warmth but you feel liberated wearing trousers!
The ruffled blouse is really pretty and it is very reminiscent of the blossom of the tree you are standing under!
What was the surgery you had done exactly? You mentioned resection but I'm not sure what that is!

    1. I had to have parts of my small intestine and colon removed because of Chron disease, about half a meter altogether. The doctors just call it resection Chron surgery, I'm not sure is there any other term for it. The scar is hideous, it looks like a shark tried to have a bite of me:)!

  14. Dear Ivana, yes, for sure I'm a fan of cropped pants! Honestly, it even feels for me more strange to wear pants in normal length than cropped pants :) And I don't wear cropped pants because I'm tall like you :) Love all the 3 looks you show here. You really know how to wear cropped pants and I'm so sorry that you still see that many from your operation. Hopefully you feel nevertheless well. The handpainted shirt looks absolutely good, you can be so proud of what you have created again.
    Happy new week!

WHAT DRESS TO CHOOSE THIS AUTUMN? SPECIAL OCCASION OUTFIT IDEAS

As I mentioned in one of my last post, I'm already thinking about what I might wear for all those festive occasions that are coming up. Autumn and Winter both have its fair share of festivities. Our social calendar can be quite busy this time of year with all the meetings, events, festivities, celebrations, family and work parties. Some of these social occasions come with a black tie dress code, so I decided to prepare some outfit ideas.  A bit of formal wear inspiration for  my readers. All of these photographs were taken the day before yesterday. We're enjoying a rather warm Autumn in Herzegovina but these outfits I'm sharing can be easily be adapted for colder weather. Just throw a warm coat or a blazer over them, and that would be that.  That's what I plan to do once it gets colder. Anyhow, all four dresses I'll be sharing with you today are from Rosegal. This is my second collaboration with this site, if you want you can have a look at my first one here. With…

Fashion Illustration Friday: Inspired by Colours of Autum

Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday talk. We'll talk autumn and share some new autumn inspired fashion illustrations & outfits. Autumn is a season with one of the most beautiful colour palettes. Just think about all those gorgeous gold and red leaves! Even the fruits of Autumn are visually stunning, for example the delicious and juicy fruits such as pomegranates and grapes. With so much to appeal to our senses, it's hard not to be appreciative of autumn. It is a stunning season indeed, so small wonder I was inspired to create some fashion art. AUTUMN COLOUR COMBOS TO CONSIDER
Besides enjoying the colours of autumn, I sure love wearing colour in autumn, and that's what I'll write about today. Whether we're talking about accessories or clothes, a bit of colour can take us a long way. Here are some illustrated & photographed colour combos to consider.

How To Style A Grey Sweater Dress in Autumn? Outfit Proposal of the Day

HOW TO STYLE GREY FOR AUTUMN/WINTER?
I was just thinking how grey doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Sure, there are many enthusiasts of the colour grey, but even among those of us who like grey, there are many lessons to be learned. One of the mistakes we make when styling grey items is to forget that grey does come in so many shades. It's kind of obvious, but it's easy to focus on the classical grey tones and forget to explore this colour in all its complexity. Not to mention that styling the lighter shades of grey can be a great way to refresh our autumn/winter wardrobe. Sometimes it does seem to me that grey is one of the most underestimated colours out there. However, that all might change as grey has been trending a lot lately. For example, you can have a look at some of my runaways picks bellow.
Neutral outfits composed of lighter shades are a great way to stay away from the typically dark outfit combos. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with dark …
