Here I am with another fashion illustration of mine. Who says that winter fashion can't be fun? Here is my suggestion for a lovely winter outfit. I illustrated a girl wearing a dark pink coat, green scarf and beanie, black jumper, skinny jeans and black boots.
With years, I learned to love Winter. I already wrote about it ('
How I learned to love Winter?' ) and I might write more about it some day. Anyhow, I do enjoy making winter fashion illustrations. When it comes to fashion, Winter is just as inspiring as any other season.
P.S. Just a quick reminder that a giveaway to win 3 of my fashion illustrations is still open
here. All you have to do to win it is to be the first to leave a comment saying you want those fashion illustrations.
Evo me s još jednom modnom ilustracijom.
Pisala sam o tome kako sam naučila voljeti zimu, a možda ću još jednom nešto napisati nekad. Uglavnom, volim praviti zimske modne ilustracije.

Learning to dress warmly will make you warm up to winter in no time!
One thing I learned is to dress for the weather. More specifically to dress for cold weather. If you're dressed well, you don't have be that cold in winter.
Unless you live in an extremely harsh climate, being cold is optional.
I mean if you dress appropriately, you shouldn’t be cold even when outside’s temperature is close to zero. It is all about the layers and keeping most of your body well covered.
I usually pay the most attention to dressing extra warmly if I'm going to go out in the morning or in the evening because it is when it can get quite cold.
However, if I'm going out around noon, I tend to dress warmly but not extremely so. The reason for this is that Mostar is a town with a high number of sunny days.
Living in a Mediterranean climate has many benefits.
Mediterranean winter isn't even that cold?
I don't know how I didn't learn to love it before!
Anyhow, with so much sun, I feel like I don't need to pile tons of clothes on myself. I just make sure I'm using the layers correctly.
MORE LINKS TO POSTS ABOUT FASHION ILLUSTRATING

As you can see, first I sketched with pencil, and then I added watercolour to finish this drawing. The background ended up looking a bit unfinished. I was planning it too look more detailed. Judging from the Colosseum and the famous pine trees, this was supposed to be Rome, the eternal city, the crowning jewel of Italy. The background turned up a bit muddy, but I'll forgive myself.
Art journey means making a lot of mistakes!

Honestly, I feel like watercolour is one of those mediums I still have so much to learn about!
What mistakes have I made on my fashion art journey?
I have said so many times that fashion illustration was something I always enjoyed doing. Since I was doing it for myself, I figured that it doesn’t really matter if my illustration don’t look professional.
There was also this another thing and that was that I didn’t want them to look professional, I wanted them to feel like my own, I wanted to be able to see that I made them. I wanted to be unique.
I felt like if I learned the basic fashion illustration skills, I will draw like others.
I didn’t want to imitate the prevalent style of illustrating.
I suppose that what I wanted (but haven’t figured it out yet at that point) was to develop my own style of fashion illustration.
I was doing it the wrong way, though.
You cannot get better at something, without working on it.
So, I started working on my fashion illustrations. I started watching videos and tutorials about fashion illustrating.
This time working on it meant not simply drawing more but getting back to basics, learning more about fashion illustration and trying to find a way to do them that I would feel comfortable with.
So, basically this is me admitting that I made the mistake of not working on my art skills.
Learning classical techniques can only advance your art style.
You need to learn the basics if you want to be an artist. It's as simple as that.
Did you notice that this fashion illustration has a background?
So, the location for this fashion illustration was actually inspired by a place I actually visited. You can read
my post focusing on Rome, Italy here.Although I illustrated the place I have actually visited, I didn't illustrate my actual outfit that time. The fashion illustrations features a blond girl that looks nothing like me. Sometimes I illustrate myself, and sometimes I don't. Still, both of these outfits feature a green scarf, so perhaps the inspiration was there.
Did I intend to illustrate this green hand knitted scarf? Honestly, I can remember. Perhaps it was an unconscious inspiration. However, I did illustrate one clothing item from this outfit and that is a green tartan jacket. Below you can see my outfit shot in Rome compared with the original illustration. If you scroll even further, you'll see a fashion illustration focusing on both the green tartan jacket and the green knitted scarf! I often wear these two items together! I love green accents.
As I said, I'll share a watercolour pencil illustration I did of another outfit featuring this green tartan jacket and the green scarf.
That's all for today folks!
cool outfit! and great illustration! :)

I didn't get any presents. My husband is against gifts for Christmas, he thinks it makes the holiday too commercial.
