VISIT BUNICA RECREATIONAL AREA WITH ME! WINTER 2022

Hello readers. Today we are visiting Buna recreational area again. We hiking by Bunica river. Only a short drive from Mostar, this green oasis proved to be (once again) a wonderful destination for a winter walk. With my iron levels still being low, I don't have the energy for long hikes but I do enjoy those short ones. It is so lovely being out and about, breathing the fresh air. There are many benefits of going for a walk in the nature, I wrote about some of them HERE.While we were walking around, we didn't meet anyone. You could say that we had the place for ourselves. I was amazed by the blue green tonalities of river Bunica. The photographs turned out rather nice, it must be because of that wonderful light. Not to mention anything of this lovely location. I do enjoy taking photographs in nature. Fortunately, there are a lot of stunning green locations where I live. Sure, after a while they are bound to get a bit repetitive but I know you guys don't mind.  I will link up old posts herehereherehere and here so you can read more about this place if you want to. I'll include even more links bellow (for those who want to know more about this area).

Is there anything more lovely than a fresh and sunny winter day? If you layer and dress well, being cold becomes optional, especially if you don't live in an extremely cold climate. Maybe my new found love for Winter has something to do with learning how to dress better- and warmer. This all black outfit I'm sharing with you today was certainly warm and comfortable. Nevertheless, it is hard to believe that I used to be a girl who disliked Winter. I have really warmed up to it over the years. I'm actually excited about the fact that Winter is here to stay for a while longer. I'm no longer anxiously waiting for the Spring or anything like that. Like most people, I will probably be happy once Spring arrives, but I feel no need to rush it.  I have finally learned that it's important to live in the moment and enjoy the season at hand. Winter can be so beautiful and inspiring as well.

Oduševila me plavo zelena boja i tonaliteti rijeke Bunice.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN HERZEGOVINA?
As the name of the country indicates, there are two main regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and they are called: Bosnia and Herzegovina. Generally speaking, Bosnia has a more continental climate whereas Herzegovina has a more Mediterranean climate. There are many wonderful cities in Bosnia as well and I might  blog about them some day, but since I'm based in Herzegovina, I obviously visit local  Herzegovian areas more often. Once again, these are two regions of the same country, so if you're visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, I definitely recommend visiting both of them, as I do believe that both have a lot to offer.  I like to blog about Bosnia and Herzegovina as this country is pretty underrated as a tourist destination. During the years I lived here, I got to learn a lot about Herzegovina in particular. This Mediterranean region really has a lot to offer.

THE AREA SURROUNDING MOSTAR AREA HAS A LOT TO OFFER
Besides being a beautiful city, Mostar has the added benefit of having great destinations in vicinity. That makes it a great city base for exploring Bosnia and Herzegovina.

FOR CITY (URBAN LIFE) LOVERS

3 AMAZING CITIES TO VISIT IN HERZEGOVINA BESIDES MOSTAR- LJUBUŠKI, ŠIROKI BRIJEG AND ČAPLJINA

I blogged about beautiful historical town Mostar, but there are 3 other amazing cities in the region of Herzegovina that I would love to share with you: Ljubuški, Široki Brijeg and Čapljina.  This is by no means a complete list. Another thing worth pointing out is that a lot of places  that get called cities, but in reality there are not that many cities in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina (only around 20). Popular tourist destinations such as Blagaj and Međugorje are often called cities while in fact they do not have a status of a city but of a village.

FOR NATURE LOVERS
PROTECTED AREAS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The three Nature Parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina are: Hutovo Blato (founded in 1995), Blidnje (founded in 1995) and Bardač ( also founded in 1995). The four National parks are Sutjeska (founded in 1965), Kozara (1967), Una (2008) and Drina National Park (founded in 2017). I focused on two nature parks in the past: Hutovo Blato and Blidinje. The reason why I'm always focusing on these two on my blog is because I have visited both of them (and more than once). So, I think I can give you a pretty good idea of what to expect and give you some ideas about what to do there.

BUNICA RIVER RECREATIONAL AREA is no nature park but as you can see, it's a wonderful destination for an excursion. Simply perfect for nature lovers. As you can see if you look at the photographs bellow, we really enjoyed our walk there. I was simply mesmerized by the reflections of trees in the water. I think that would make for such a beautiful painting. What do you think? Should I try to paint these tree reflections? I'm thinking about doing a proper canvas painting with acrylics. Well, if I decide to paint it, don't worry, you'll be among the first to find out about it.

Thank you for reading and visiting. Have a lovely weekend!

  6. It's wonderful to have a choice of destinations for a walk, being long or short, near one's home. We too tend to visit those again and again, noting the changing of the seasons with each visit. Tagging along with you to Bunica recreational area didn't feel repetitive at all.
I do love a cold but sunny Winter's day - unfortunately we haven't been blessed with many of those in Belgium lately. I think Winter is a great time for photography, and your photos, particularly those with the water reflections, are especially gorgeous! xxx

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
