Floral Dress For Summer: Keeping It Simple (Outfit proposal) + Revisiting Buna

Hello everyone! I hope you're enjoying your weekend. The outfit I'm sharing with you today is all about this floral dress. I have had this dress for a while, and it has proven to be very versatile. I wear it pretty often because I simply love its vibrant  floral print. One of my favourite ways of styling it is wearing it with a skirt, but I'm always finding new ways to wear it and sometimes I just like to keep it simple. Speaking of which, you can see alternative ways to wear such a bold floral dress here, here and here. I already wrote about my love for florals a number of time. Sometimes when I wear a bold floral print, I like to keep the rest of the outfit more simple. That was the case today. I paired this floral dress with sandals. Floral print has been trending this spring, but I think we'll be seeing it this summer as well. Summer is approaching and it is perhaps the most relaxed of a seasons. I don't know why, but I feel like summer is a time when  you can get away with wearing pretty much anything.  Maybe it is because it is vacation season and it puts people into a different frame of mind. How about you? Do you think we can get away with more during the summer? Are you looking forward to summer? Do you have your vacation planned already?

Besides the outfit, today I'm taking you back to one of my happy places. I love to stop by for coffee at motel & restaurant Kolo, Buna. Not that I'm advertising this place, but it is really lovely.  It is very hard not to feel happy surrounded by amazingly beautiful Bunica river. Every time I'm here I need to pinch myself to make sure it's real. It looks like an episode from National Geographic or something like that. This place is also very close to Mostar city, so I really have no excuse not to visit often. It hasn't been long at all since my last visit (read that post here) and seeing how wonderful the surrounding is, can you blame me? Plus, I love socializing with the ducks here. They are so accustomed to me, that some of the run (or swim) to me as soon as they see me. One duck was even asleep right next to me while I was having my photograph taken. I almost missed it, because its feather allow it to blend perfectly. This duck obviously felt very at peace by our side. I do love animals and I think animals sense that. That is why in most cases they love me back. I cannot tell you how many people got annoyed with me because their pet started to ignore them once I came to visit. But what can I do? It's hardly my fault if animals like me.

  7. Ivana, you look beautiful in this floral print dress. This style definitely suits you. Also, this place is beautiful. I have never heard of it before. It looks so relaxing and peaceful, a great place for a vacation for sure. Animals can sense certain things about people. I think we have a special connection to animals. If an animal likes you, I think that's a good sign. Can't wait to see your next post dear and I hope you are feeling good these days!

  19. I remember seeing this floral dress outfit on LOOKBOOK a few days ago, and I LOVE it! This dress is nicely complimented by these sweet sandals. A cute pair of platform wedge pumps or sandals would also look great with this. Maybe even some chic high-heel boots as well. Anyhow, you look lovely! Not to be outdone- this setting is very nice.

  24. I love your dress and how very feminine you look in this outfit and the duck! Hahahah, the duck slept next to you is the best part of this. I sense that about you and the animals. I think it is the biggest compliment from Nature to have all kinds of animals wanting a piece of the space next to you. Like the birds that were flying so close like butterflies to you in the other post I commented. Your energy must be very peaceful and loving because animals sense that. I love your smile and how you just love animals. This place is so tranquil, I would so love to just sit there by the ducks and appreciate :D <3

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

February recap / sažetak veljače

You have seen (more or less) what was February like for me. Now tell me... what was February like for you? Are you happy that it's already March or do you feel like time is flying too fast? Are you looking forward to the spring?

As far as blogging goes, it seems that I have became more focused on fashion illustrations. In the next month the illustrations will have their place, but there will be more focus on DIY....or at least I think so, because I'm kind of heading in that direction. Apart from that, I have no plans. I have so many ideas when it comes to what I want to blog about, that I often have hard time deciding what not to include. As always, feel free to write about what you would like to see.

Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights post, you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.

I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. At the end of this lovely sewing course, you get to choose not only what you're going to make, but also the material and the pattern.  The sewing pattern is typically chosen from one of the sewing magazines this designer has …

How To Style Animal Print? + An Autumnal Fairy Tale at Ethno Village Near Medugorje

With winter at our doorstep, I think it's important to make the most out of the left over autumn days. With that in mind, my husband and I payed another visit to our favourite (still not officially opened!) ethno village in vicinity of Medugorje. I wrote about this eco/ethno village a number of times, so if you want to know more (or just see more photographs) feel free to check out my old posts herehereherehere and here.  Autumn is Herzegovina is always gorgeous, and this year hasn't been an exception. We had some sudden weather changes and drastic changes of temperature, but I would still describe this autumn as a beautiful one. The Sunday this photographs were taken on was rather gorgeous, so I'm certainly glad we went on this little trip. I know I'm repeating myself, but I do cherish moments like this. Every time I step into this little village, I feel as if the time has stopped or rather like I have just travelled in time. It's such a charming place! I h…
