For the love of flowers...Za ljubav prema cvijeću....(Buna, BIH)

In my last post I showed you how flowers can play well with fashion illustrations. Today I'm going to show you how to wear a floral print in a casual way. I'm a big fan of a floral print for a number of reasons. One of them is certainly their eye-catching appeal. However, sometimes I feel like rocking the floral print in a more subtle way. Not every outfit needs to be a fashion statement, right? Sometimes we feel like taking it easy. How to dress florals down? What I like to do is  to wear one floral item with colours that are either more neutral or (and) those that are a nice match with the colour that is present on the floral item in question. When I want to wear florals without drawing too much attention to the look, I stay away from the flashy accessories and keep it simple. Anyhow, that's my way to make the floral print more appropriate for every day wear. If you're looking for more inspiration,  you can see how I styled this floral dress (yes, it's actually a dress/tunics) here and here.  The location for this photographs was Buna in Bosnia and Herzegovina...and don't think for a second I'm not aware of how beautiful this place is and how lucky I'm to live in such a beautiful area.

Your skirt is very cute, the color is perfection! You look very fresh and chic Ivana! Hope your weekend is going great.

  40. Preslatko ti stoje ovakve girly kombinacije! Cvetni print i ja volim i cesto nosim u ovim toplijim mesecima. Slazem se da kada se odlucimo za neki cvetni komad, ostatak kombinacije treba da je svedeniji i bez previse detalja.

AN AUTUMN OUTFIT AND A BOOK REVIEW (EAST WEST BY SALMAN RUSHDIE)

Hello darlings! It's suddenly gotten a lot colder here, but I still have one warm autumn styling proposal to share with you. I wore this cute neutral outfit while the sun was still shining bright. On that lovely sunny day, I decided to pair my white (authentic) folklore shirt with a striped mini, dark leggings and a dark green vest. I finished this look with my brown boots and a tartan belt. Besides this outfit, I will share another book review on my blog today. East West by Salman Rushdie also happens to falls into category of magic realism. I'm no stranger to Salman Rushdie,  I read Midnight's children a while back and I started but never finished Satanic Verses. This is the first time I read his short stories, though.  I really liked this collection and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

KAFKA ON THE SHORE, A NOVEL BY HARUKI MURAKAMI (BOOK REVIEW & OUTFIT PROPOSAL)

Hello, my darlings! I will be sharing two things with you today: a book review and an outfit post. This cozy outfit proposal features two printed items: a printed scarf and a skirt. The bluish scarf was a gift from a friend and I like how it looks with this camel coat (another gifted item). The wool/silk printed skirt is old, a creation from fashion house Edi. You had a change of seeing this unique floral print on the blog here , here and here. Under the camel coat I have worn this white blouse and this red blazer.  I completed the outfit with a red beanie and high brown boots.  It has gotten colder in Croatia even on the shore. Speaking of the shore, Kafka on the Shore is the novel I will be reviewing today.
MURAKAMI, A WRITER THAT REMINDS ME OF A CAT

10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I…
