HOW TO STYLE A SUMMER DRESS IN AUTUMN? ČAPLJINA
Hello! Today I'll show you how to style a summer dress in autumn. I'm all about making the most out of my closet and wearing a summer dress in autumn is really not that hard- especially in transitional weather. I don't remember when, but some time ago I stopped dividing my wardrobe into 'cold' and 'warm weather' sections. I wear summer items all year around, I just make sure I layer them correctly. For instance, I often wear my summer dresses in colder months as well. I keep warm by pairing them with boots and warm outwear. It is as simple as that. This is what I wore when I visited Čapljina a few days ago. Scroll down to see and read more.
HERE10 WAYS TO WEAR THIS NAUTICAL PRINT DRESS |
OUTFIT VERSION #1 A NAUTICAL PRINT DRESS PAIRED WITH A YELLOW BLAZER AND A MUSTARD YELLOW SWEATER AND HIGH BROWN BOOTS
This was the first version of my outfit. It was a beautiful sunny day so I wore this lovely vintage blazer as a jacket. However, I also took a puffer with me and kept it in the car. Always a good thing to do when you go somewhere by car. Anyhow, when it started to get windy I decided to opt for puffer instead, especially when we decided to have a cup coffee in the open. Scroll down to see that version of the outfit and tell me which one do you prefer. I think I like them both and I definitely plan on repeating the look with the yellow blazer, I like how it matches with the yellow tones in this nautical print dress. I wore this yellow blazer in this post (most recent wear I think) and here you can read my post about ten way to wear a yellow blazer because I'm all about being sustainable by wearing clothing items repeatedly.
OUTFIT VERSION NUMBER #2- A NAUTICAL PRINT DRESS PAIR WITH A BLACK PUFFER, A BLACK HAT, BURGUNDY BAG AND HIGH BROWN BOOTSThis is basically the same outfit, just with more layers. Had it been really cold, I would have kept the blazer but since it wasn't that cold (just a bit windy), I left the blazer in the car and wore just my puffer jacket. I also added this old cap with DIY touches. I sewed a leather decoration onto it myself year ago. Let's do some links to show you how I wore these items before.

ČAPLJINA- LINKS TO SOME OF MY PREVIOUS VISITS
Čapljina is a very pretty and pedestrian friendly town. There's much to see and do: explore Neretva river, try the gastronomical offer, visit Roman villa Mogorjelo and enjoy horse riding. Don't forget about Hutovo blato nature park! It is located in the vicinity and it's simply a must visit if you're in the area. Moreover, in Hutovo blato park there is a bridge that is even older than the old bridge in Mostar. Most people miss it, but it's literally right there at the entrance to the nature park (visit this post to see what it looks like). 1. Mogorjelo ( a post focused on describing the historical sight Mogorjelo with an ancient Roman villa)
2. Wearing a red puffer and Taking a stroll in Čapljina ( an outfit post but one featuring many photographs of the city as well)
3. Another Strolling Around Čapljina Post (the link is pretty self-explanatory)
4. More Photographs of the City Centre (again the link says it all)
5. Train Station in Čapljina (perfect for train lovers and photo taking, you can also take a train from Mostar to Čapljina but the lines are not too frequent. You'll have to look them up for more details).
As always thank you for reading and visiting. Have a nice day!
You are so good at getting more wear out of your "seasonal" clothes by layering, Ivana! I have gotten away from that as my wardrobe has grown.
ReplyDeleteyes, I suppose that if I lived somewhere with 'real' cold, I'd need more warmer clothes, but here I can mostly rely on layering.
DeleteGreat styling dear... you look so pretty :-)

DeleteAwesome! I so love those boots! Cool hat, as well. Love how you can add a coat and make so much more of that summer dress. I do like adding a sweater these days. Definitely, sweater weather here!

DeleteHello dear Ivana, I hope you had a very nice week!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say thanks for your wise words dear Ivana, can't thank you enough that you always take the time to share your opinions about my posts with me... that means the world!
And talking about transition time, this is probably my favorite time of the year since we are able to work with the strangest combinations and play with our garments.... I don't know about you, but at least that is possible for many months in Barcelona and couldn't be more thankful about that since you don't need the heaviest cold until late December.
It is cool that now you're not making a big separation with your clothes.... me neither haha, the cool part is that you had the chance to play with that summer dress by adding layers. That look with the blazer is so dreamy and stylish, but actually all the options could work for many occasion and you always show us that versatility and imagination are key resources when it comes to play with our wardrobe.
Gonna check the other posts of the week!

Hey Fungi
Thank you Pablo. I totally agree. Transitional fashion is so much fun!!! I think that those of us who are fortunate enough to live in Mediterrean climates really have it easy in some ways because we enjoy beautiful weather that enables us to be more creative and playful. P.S. You're always so kind with your comments.

DeleteBeautiful way to wear i liked so much
ReplyDeleteThank you Nassah.
DeleteThat funky patterned dress is really most gorgeous and totally deserved to be worn throughout the seasons. I am quite in awe of your layering skills.
ReplyDeleteI might wear my Summer dresses into early Autumn, but as I have two separate seasonal sections in my wardrobe, I tend to only wear my warmer and long-sleeved clothes once I've done the Autumn changeover.
I am loving that mural artwork you're posing in front, it's absolutely fabulous! xxx
Thank you and yes that makes sense. Here winter isn't terribly different from Autumn in terms of temperature so most of the time I wear the same clothes.
DeleteThat is such a fun dress! Tights and boots and outerwear are such a foolproof way to style warm weather dresses.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rowena.
DeleteSummer dresses look great with warm, huge sweaters. I love this style.
