What is the inspiration behind this?

Well, sometimes we can love the person but not everything they do.

We can see the best in them.

We can believe in them.

Sometimes we can realize that the person we love is deluding themselves, or refusing to face the truth, but we can still love them, love what is good in them.


Kakvo je nadahnuće iza ovog akvarela? 

Ponekad možemo voljeti osobu, ali ne i sve što ta osoba radi. 

Možemo vidjeti najbolje u njima.

Možemo vjerovati u njih.

Ponekad možemo shvatiti kako  osoba koju volimo zavarava sama sebe, ili ne može prihvatiti  istinu, ali svejedno ih možemo voljeti, voljeti ono što je dobro u njima.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Bellucci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.   The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Bellucci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing).  There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. Two ways to wear a scarf. Nothing revolutionary. If you want more inspiration, you will have to click this old  post  of mine (or this new one ). The first suggestion I'm throwing your way is just tying a scarf in a bow. Nice, simple and bound to give every outfit a feminine touch. Do you agree? The other way is to secure a scarf with a belt. You must have took notice of  'belted scarf' trend last year. I think we will be seeing it in the upcoming Autumn and Winter season as well. I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear more black, but even when I choose an all black outfit, I feel a need for accessories that will be anything but.   Dva načina za nositi šal. THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO 2024 MOVIE REVIEW

In this post, I'll share with you a review of  The Count of Monte Cristo.  I don't go to theatre/movies often. In fact, years have been known to pass without me seeing a film on the big screen. However, when I saw the poster for the new 2024  The Count of Monte Cristo movie, I knew I simply had to go.  I really wanted to see this film, and I didn't even read the reviews or watch the trailer for it. I wasn't even intimidated by the fact it is a three hours long. Afterall, it's based on a rather long novel, so I didn't expect it to be short.  Now, I usually review books on my blog, not movies. However, perhaps this film review won't come as a surprise to you. Fringes, hearts and everything nice..../ Rese, srčeka i sve lijepo......

This is not the first time I'm wearing this necklace, it was already featured here . I quite enjoyed designing and making it. Working with recycled materials is always fun because it calls for a lot of creativity. Besides, it feeds the incurable optimist in me that stubbornly believes  we can (at least sometimes) really make the most of things. Sometimes life is like bad coffee and we need to keep adding sugar to make it bearable....or in this case, fringes and hearts. Nije prvi put da nosim ovu ogrlicu, već ste je imali priliku vidjeti ovdje . Bilo ju je veliko zadovoljstvo osmišljavati i praviti.
