FREE LANGUAGE LESSONS IN APRIL /BESPLATNI JEZIČNE LEKCIJE OVOG TRAVNJA

We live in difficult and complex times. The enormity of the present events and crisis can feel overwhelming and contribute to a feeling of hopelessness. However, in every situation there is something we can do to personally help. That is why this April I'll be organizing free online language lessons for anyone who might need that kind of help in these difficult times. Besides language lessons, I'll also offer free professional help with translating and writing. If you send me an email (ivana.kardua@gmail.com), we can agree on what kind of pro bono help you might need. 

Communication skills are essentials for our every day life. No matter what our circumstances are, developing communication skills can help us in a number of ways. Stressful events can have a negative influence on our ability to communication. At times, stresses and trauma can significantly undermine our language skills and/or diminish our communication skills when we need them the most. If you are currently struggling with any kind of stress related to current events, free help from a language professional can be useful for obvious reasons. Živimo u teškim i složenim vremenima. Ozbiljnost sadašnjih događaja i krize može učiniti da se osjećamo prevladani događajima te osjećaja bespomoćnosti. Međutim, u svakoj situaciji postoji nešto što možemo učiniti kako bismo osobno pomogli. Zato ću ovog travnja organizirati besplatne online tečajeve jezika za sve koji bi mogli zatrebati takvu vrstu pomoći u ovim teškim vremenima. Osim satova jezika, ponudit ću i besplatnu stručnu pomoć pri prevođenju i pisanju. Ako mi pošaljete e-mail, možemo se dogovoriti o tome kakva bi vam pro bono pomoć mogla zatrebati.

Komunikacijske vještine neophodne su za naš svakodnevni život. Bez obzira na naše okolnosti, razvoj komunikacijskih vještina može nam pomoći na više načina. Stresni događaji mogu negativno utjecati na našu sposobnost komunikacije. Ponekad stres i trauma mogu značajno potkopati naše jezične vještine i/ili umanjiti naše komunikacijske vještine kada su nam najpotrebnije. Ako se trenutno borite s bilo kakvom vrstom stresa u vezi s aktualnim događajima, besplatna pomoć jezičnog stručnjaka može biti korisna iz očitih razloga. To je razlog zašto ga nudim. FREE LANGUAGE LESSONS IN APRIL 

What is my work experience? I'm a  state certified language teacher with years of experience. Besides working in educational sector, I also have experience working in aviation, touristic and hospitality sector.  I have  volunteer experience helping children with special needs and their parents as well as working on fundraising and charity projects. Basically, I have a lot of different work and volunteer experience to draw from.

What can I offer to you?
I can offer you:
- customized online individual and/or group  online language lessons,
- customized learning materials and help in finding online language learning resources,
- help in developing all four language skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading,
- help with translation, writing, editing  and proofreading.

Kakvo je moje radno iskustvo? Ja sam profesorica jezika s položenim stručnim ispitom i dugogodišnjim iskustvom u podučavanju jezika. Osim rada u obrazovnom sektoru, imam i iskustvo rada u zrakoplovstvu, turizmu i ugostiteljstvu. Imam dugogodišnje volontersko iskustvo u pomaganju djeci s posebnim potrebama i njihovim roditeljima, kao i radu na prikupljanju sredstava i dobrotvornim projektima. Uglavnom, imam puno različitih radnih i volonterskih iskustava iz kojih mogu crpiti.

    Hello Ivana,

    Hope you're doing well and thank you so much for the way you're willing to help other during this weird period of time. I also agree with you that communication is a good way to improve our working network and it can also help us to grow as human kind.

    I knew about some works related with translation but English to Spanish. Anyways I'll be eyes wide open in case there is an opportunity for you to collaborate or work with other peoples in terms of languages and communications. I am also seeking for new ways of expanding my work as I told you.

 Hello! In this post, I'll share a sustainable baby blue and leopard spring styling. A pale blue might not be the first choice with leopard, but why not? For me leopard print is sort of a classic. I actually love to pair it with all kinds of colours, from more vibrant ones to pales ones. In the past, I paired it with cobalt blue . I definitely do not feel that leopard should be worn only with neutral colours. I mean I paired leopard with white, grey and black clothing items often enough, but I love to pair it with something that pops, be it a coloured or pattern item. I do love patterns. THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. I needed to emotionally process the story.   The Island of Missing Trees is   set in London and Cyprus. Sights to see, places to visit / Znamenitosti za vidjeti, mjesta za posjetiti -----Goranci

My Sights to see, places to visit feature would surely be missing something if I didn't include this little village Goranci in the list of places to visit. This charming little village is situated in the vicinity of Mostar.  I love to go there to espace the city heat.  If you are into cycling, you'd be happy to hear that you can rent a bike for free. You just need to leave your ID in the restaurant Goranci and you can take the bike. There is a wonderful cycling and pedestrian walk so be sure to check it out. As of recently, there is also a beautiful park at your disposal. This park is growing daily as new things are added to it(toys for kids and that sorts of stuff). The Magic of Nature Park Hutovo Blato: Must See Places in Herzegovina

I've been living as an expat in Bosnia and Herzegovina for almost a decade now. During this rather long period of time, I've discovered many wonderful places that I learned to treasure and appreciate. I wrote about most of them here in this little place I can my own. Still, some places are more special than others. It is hard to say why. Some reasons remain mysterious of the heart. Maybe life is more interesting that way. We don't always have to know everything. Sometimes we fall in love with places just the way we fall in love with people. All I can say is that Hutovo Blato is one of those special places. I've fallen in love with it during my first visit. Maybe it's the sea child in me that's feeling (and missing) the Adriatic? After all, the Adriatic is not far from here. OZZ STUDENTS' FASHION SHOW, MENTOR FASHION DESIGNER STANKA ZOVKO (MOSTAR INTERNATIONAL FAIR)

EN  Hello! Today I'm happy to share with you a wonderful fashion show I attended last Friday at Mostar International Fair. As you might remember, I regularly visit Mostar International Fair.  Anyhow, this time I was there to see and support a  really special fashion show. This fashion show showed creations from students who attended a fashion sewing and design course held by designer Stanka Zovko. If you remember, a few years back  I attended this sewing and design course myself. I was invited to present my creations as well. I couldn't participate myself this year due to previous engagements, but who knows maybe next year I'll get the chance. How amazing would it be to participate as a fashion designer? The arrival of spring has been bittersweet. On one hand, it is always beautiful to watch the rebirth of nature, but on the other there is so much anxiety, fear and suffering in the world right now. Perhaps the outfit I'm wearing today is a good metaphor for that. An all black look with some colourful accents. Sometimes I look around me and marvel at all the beauty and yet at the same time I'm aware that dark times might well be ahead of us. Darkness and Light .
