INSPIRED BY SILVIA NEGRETTI FROM S IN FASHION AVENUE

Hello!  In this post, I'll share two fashion illustrations I made inspired by one of Silvia Negretti's outfits.  As some of you might know, there is a regular feature on my blog where I post my art inspired by fashion bloggers. So, this means I'm back with another Inspired by post. This is not the first time I'm illustrating Silvia. I posted  another fashion drawing based on her outfit in 2016. I have been following and reading Silvia's blog S in Fashion Avenue for many years. We might have been started our blogs around the same time, but I remember hers was one of the first blogs I discovered. I always find great fashion inspiration there. 

Over the years I have made hundreds original illustrations of bloggers. Perhaps my most productive year in terms of illustration was 2016, when I illustrated thirty bloggers. However, I have been quite productive over the years and I didn't always do recap posts, so I don't have the exact number. Maybe some day I'll do the math, in the meantime let's just say- if you're looking for original fashion art, you have come to the right place. I work with different mediums and I post a lot of my art on my blog, almost all of it. 

The medium for the fashion illustrations I did today was coloured pencils on paper. I made this drawing while I was visiting family, so I just used some non branded coloured pencils and some A4 paper. I didn't have all the colours I needed, so I just improvised by mixing different colours. I think the result came out alright. Out of these two fashion drawings, one is a bit more detailed, and the other is more a fashion sketch. Neither of them is very detailed, both are hurried sketches, but on one I did capture more details and even some of the background. The outfit I illustrated with pencils is composed of a pussy bow blouse, a mini skirt and a pair of high boots. Spring is in the air!

THE MAKING OF THE FASHION DRAWINGS 

Below you can have a look at some pictures to see the drawing process. As you can see one is a more free styled quick sketch, and the other one is a bit more detailed. 








I didn't time myself drawing these, I think I spend between half an hour and an our on them in total. Drawing them didn't take long, but colouring these two took me some time.

DRAWING ISN'T EXACTLY MY FIRST CHOICE! NOR IS PENCIL OR COLOURED PENCILS! I wrote about this on my blog many times. I feel my most cofident holding a brush and painting with acrylics, watercolour or oils. 
BUT FOR AN ARTIST IT'S IMPORTANT TO TRY OUT ALL THE MEDIA.

So, I do draw. I draw with both pencils and coloured pencils. 
I have made a lot of fashion illustrations and drawings over the years.

    Bom dia minha querida amiga Ivana. Fica difícil responder seu comentário. Ganhei meu dia, você me encheu de muita alegria. Sou brasileiro e do Rio de Janeiro (carioca) e sei que ambos são cheios de problemas e defeitos. Mas, procuro mostrar que o Brasil e o Rio de Janeiro, são mais fortes e que ambos possuem lugares incríveis e pessoas maravilhosas, também, que tento mostrar através do Blogger. Acho que eu nem mostrei, 1% das maravilhas e brlezas do Brasil e talvez uns 25% do Rio de Janeiro. Falta-me tempo e o principal, dinheiro.     Mamma mia, me lo ricordo quel look del 2016 ma non pensavo che fossero già passati quasi 10 anni!

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. Yellow Riding Hood / Žutokapica

Yellow Riding Hood....I'm living my autumn fairy tale at the moment. I'm letting the beauty of Autumn mesmerize me and I'm spending as much time outdoors as possible.  Recently I visited Čapljina. It is a small city in region of Herzegovina. Everyone is always talking about it, saying it is the perfect city for taking a stroll. That's quite correct actually. For my part, I can say that I always enjoy taking a stroll here. Plus, I took the chance to check out one newly reopened cake house.  This little city has an interesting history. Apparently, it was founded by ancient Romans in fifth century BC. Its name  is derived from 'čaplja', which in Croatian means haron. This is no accident because in vicinity of this city, you will find bird reservoir and nature park Hutovo blato.  Haron is only one of the  bird that can be seen here. FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: BLACK WITH PINK, GREEN AND RED ACCENTS

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! Time for another Fashion Illustration Friday, a regular art feature on my blog where I share my fashion illustrations. If you're a regular visitor, you know what I'm taking about. Your gal loves art as much as fashion (if not more), so it makes sense there is space for both on her personal blog.  Today was a long and emotional day, and maybe some time I'll tell you all about it. At the moment my heart is full. I have a lot to be grateful for, but also a lot of challenges ahead. It's a rather long story that I might tell some day. However, it won't be tonight. Maybe tomorrow. VISITING NATURE RESERVE HUTOVO BLATO IN A GREEN AND BLACK WINTER STYLING

Hello readers and fellow bloggers. Today I'm taking you with me on a winter walk through Hutovo blato, and let me warn you in advance, this post is going to be picture heavy. We visited Hutovo blato about a month ago on a sunny but mildly windy winter day.  Needless to say, I really enjoyed our visit. The start of the year was pretty rough for me, as it was for most people, one way or another. We seem to be living in rough times, and while every time has its challenges, I feel like we're living in difficult times. Unless I'm mistaken, this is one of those challenging periods for humankind.  There are days when I feel like there's too much collective burden on all of us. All the more reason to take a moment to breathe- and what is a better place for that than Hutovo blato? Honestly, one of my favourite places in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Hutovo blato. FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: STANKA ZOVKO SET & DIY NECKLACE

Welcome to another Fashion Illustration Friday post. This time I'm sharing an illustration of one of my own outfits. The outfit I have illustrated is all about spring vibes. Unlike the recent events, the weather has been kind to us. The Japanese cherry trees are in full bloom and it's intoxicating. In fact, I admit to colour coordinating this outfit with Sakura (cherry tree blossoms) in Mostar.  I have paired my magenta Bajina basta coat with a lilac matching polka dot set from Ozz brand by fashion designer Stanka Zovko.  I absolutely love this blouse & skirt set. In fact, I often wear these two pieces (sometimes as separre pieces and sometimes as a set). I've gotten a lot of wear from all of the pieces I got in last summer Ozz haul.
