WIW TODAY (ROMANCA, MOSTAR)

Hello there, let me show you what I have worn today. My husband snapped these images during our coffee break at restaurant Romanca near Mostar (neither a sponsored link nor a collaboration, I'm a regular visitor) at around noon. I had my espresso standing up so I could enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful surrounds fully. It was a great little break. I have spent most of the day in stores (something I normally hate but sometimes can't be avoided), as we were hunting for a new steam cleaner (seems like a good investment considering you know what) and some other items we need for our home. We ave managed to find the steam cleaner and I tried it out today- it seems alright. The day was gloriously warm and sunny. I took a coat with me just in case, but it was so warn I left it in the car. This grey blazer was enough to keep me warm. The climate in Herzegovina is simply amazing. Sunny and warm days are abundant. Plus, this region is truly stunning.

THE STORY OF MY LOOK - DIY NECKLACE- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE?
THE HAIRDO & MAKE UP- I feel like I have to mention the hairdo separately because it's such a statement hairstyle. I braided my hair and then styled them with the help of some hair pins and created this unique hairstyle. I also tied a little scarf around my head. I was so happy with this hairstyle. I was inspired by reading an article about a local hair dresser who does modern interpretations of Croatian ethnic and folklore hair styles. I was in a good mood this morning, so after ages of not wearing make up, I put some make up on today, not much but I applied some foundation, a bit of neutral eye shadow and a lip gloss. I didn't wear a mascara because I don't have one. I forgot to repurchase a new one when I threw away the old one and I'm not sure will I since I never wear mascara anyway.
THE GREY BLAZER- This second hand grey blazer is a part of a suit (United Colours of Benetton if I remember the label correctly) but I sometimes wear it as a separate piece. Today it served as a jacket because Herzegovian climate is a dream most of the time. I have to say that the beautiful autumn weather we've been having helped me with getting readjusted to being back in Mostar & living in Herzegovina again. You can see how I wore this grey blazer before here, here , here and  here
THE DIY CHOCKER NECKLACE- This necklace was designed and made by yours truly when I was in high school. Back then, it was hard to buy art & crafts supplies so I often had to be creative and use whatever I could find. I made this necklace from wire, recycled glass/ plastic beads and a single stone set in fimo mass. I found the stone somewhere, I didn't buy it. I actually like regular stones just as much as the precious ones. For me ordinary stones you found somewhere are just as precious as the gems and stones you'll find in the precious stone list.

THE LEOPARD DRESS- This dress was a gift from my husband. He loves when I wear it, so I wear it. :) It's such a pretty and cute dress, suitable for all kind of occasions. I like how it is black and white, that makes the leopard print on it easy to style. Not that I mind leopard print in its original colours, but it is nice to have it in black and white as well. I will probably devote a separate post about this dress in the future, but until then you can see how I styled it in the past here, here and here.
THE WHITE BAG- This leather brown and white bag was a gift. A friend of my mine bought a big brown leather bag in Split and this bag came inside of that larger bag. She didn't like it so she gave it to me. You can see how I wore it before here and here
THE DOC MARTENS BOOTS- I have had this pair since I was an adolescent so you can imagine how much fun we have had together over the years. Today I wasn't planning on wearing my docs, but I  since I couldn't find the boots I was looking for, I decided to dust and wear my trusted doctor Martens  boots. Naturally, wearing these boots made this outfit more casual and less dressier. However, now that I think of it, I really liked the contrast between the more fancy dress and blazer and my old combat boots.  It was nice  to wear my doc Martens boots again. If you are looking for a pair of docs, I would advise you to shop vintage and second hand. The way these boots are made  changed about ten years ago, the quality is not the same anyway, so look for doctor Martens boots that are older than 10 years. Mine are twenty years old and the quality is perfect.

BACK TO MOSTAR

Mostar is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, second only to Sarajevo. Being the the largest city in the Herzegovina region, Mostar is the natural business, administrative, cultural, educational and tourist centre of the Herzegovina region. Many people visit this beautiful city throughout the year. If travelling is not an option for you, then why not pay this city a digital visit here (or just keep visiting my blog, I moved back to Mostar so you know this city will be featured on my blog often).

  12. I'm pleased to hear that the mild and sunny climate in Herzegovina is helping you readjust to living in Mostar again. It must have been a wrench leaving behind Island Hvar after such a long period of time, while at the same time I think you must have longing to return to your proper home. I'm loving this cute little outfit, featuring the black and white leopard dress and grey blazer. The Doc Martens are giving it a proper edge! I'm also loving your hairstyle. The traditional style braids really suit you! Have a great week ahead, Ivana xxx

  15. What a fun hairdo! I like that you're playing with braids and a scarf to create it. That's a lovely leopard dress (I like to wear stuff that my husband bought me too). Black and white patterns are the easiest to change up and accessorize, I find. I adore your Docs - both of my pairs are older than 10 years, I'm sure. I love how these bring a funky edge to your outfit.

    Have a good week, Ivana!
