FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: BLACK DRESS, GREY BLAZER AND BURGUNDY HEELS
Hello there! July is coming to its end. It seems appropriate that I'm finishing this month with my Fashion Illustration Friday feature. I did try very hard to find time for fashion illustrating this past month. I managed to do make some fashion sketches and illustrations, so I'd say that I'm on a good track. Today I'll share with you one new fashion sketch inspired by a simple summer styling. Bellow you can see the collage with the outfit and sketch. On the left you can see the original outfit that inspired the fashion sketch, in between is the sketch I made wider and on the right is the original pencil sketch (drawn in an elongated style). Scroll down to see and read more.
THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT- HOW I WORE IT BEFORE?
I like the idea of achieving a sustainable closet by wearing our clothing items a minimum of 30 times. So, I try to keep track of how many times I have worn an item. This is also good for getting outfit inspiration and learning how to maximize our closet. I always say that a great advantage of a blog is having a virtual visual closet you can always reach in for inspiration.
THE BLACK DRESS- A gift from some company (don't remember the name). See how I wore it here and here.
THE MINI BROWN BAG- A friend bought this for me in an vintage second hand shop in Zagreb. You can see how I wore it previously here, here, here and here.
THE BURGUNDY SQUARE SHOES WITH A BLOCK HEEL- These heels were handed down to me. See how I styled them here, here and here.
You can buy most of my illustrations and paintings here: IvanaKada.redbubble.com.

HOW MUCH BLACK DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET?
Black is always an elegant choice. As much as I love colour, I admire the timeless elegance of black. I don't have as much black in my wardrobe as an average person, but there are certain black items I cannot do without. One of the most important ones is a black dress. Not only a little black dress, but a maxi and a midi black dress as well. I have quite a few black dresses in my closet and not all of them are simple cocktail black dresses. Some of them are maxi dresses, some are more elaborate, some less but they all have one thing in common- they are a chic option I often reach for. Black clothing items are perfect for balancing an outfit.Black skirts are another thing I like to rely on. A black skirt is a great choice with a lovely colourful top. Similarly, a black blazer can tone down and transform just about anything in a office appropriate outfit. You will never go wrong with a well fitted black dress. If you want to jazz up your outfit, you can always wear a lighter blazer on top (like I did in the outfit I illustrated before).
Thank you for reading and visiting. Take care, stay safe and have a lovely weekend.
