HOW TO STYLE A MUSTARD YELLOW DRESS FOR SUMMER?

How to style a mustard yellow dress for summer?  If bright yellow isn't your thing, why not try wearing a mustard yellow dress? Mustard yellow is easy to combine and it looks great with neutral shades. Mustard yellow looks best on fair skin tones, or so they say but feel free to break that rule. I really like yellow in all tonalities so I wear mustard yellow despite being an olive skin lady. Yellow is such a happy colour, isn't it? French Vogue proclaimed yellow the colour of spring & summer 2020. Today I will share two summer outfits featuring a mustard yellow dress. HR Kako nositi oker haljinu za ljeto? Ako jarko žuta nije vaš prvi izbor, zašto ne probati nositi oker haljinu? Oker nijansa poznata kao i boja senfa se lako kombinira i izvrsno izgleda s neutralnim nijansama. Oker najbolje izgleda na svijetlim tonovima kože, ili barem tako kažu, ali slobodno prekršite to pravilo. Jako volim žutu boju u svim tonovima, tako da rado nosim senf žuto, iako sam dama s maslinastom kožom. Žuta je tako sretna boja, zar ne? Francuski Vogue proglasio je žutu boju idealnom za proljeće i ljeto 2020. Danas ću podijeliti dva ljetna ruha u oker nijasni. Pokazat ću vam i različite načine na koje možete nositi haljnu boje senfa. Sve se vrti oko održivosti i kupovine u vlastitom ormaru na mome modnom i umjetničkom blogu moda oda radosti.

THE STORY OF THE DRESS

 I got this mustard yellow long sleeved dress in a collaboration two years ago. I first wore it in this post where I gave you tips and tricks you need for vacationing at home. HOW THIS DRESS AND I WENT OUR SEPARATE WAYS FOR A WHILE

My mother liked this dress so I gave it to her. That is why it disappeared from this blog. Had I known that she wouldn't wear it, I'd have kept this dress for myself. My mother doesn't wear dresses often. I cannot imagine why. However, recently when I was in Split I stumbled onto this mustard yellow dress  in her closet and I borrowed it from my mother. WEARING A MUSTARD DRESS WITH AN OLIVE GREEN VEST FOR A VISIT TO UNIVERSITY CAMPUS IN SPLIT CITY

This is an outfit I wore for visiting University Campus in Split city. I just love the architecture here. Anyhow, here I paired this long sleeved mustard printed mustard dress with white heeled sandals, a second hand vintage bag and a long olive vest. This long olive vest matches this dress so well, doesn't it? I would say that mustard yellow looks great with brown and olive tones. Combing warm tones is a non brainer. Mustary yellow can also look fabulous with neutral as you will see bellow. This was a fun combo to wear. I even illustrated this look. I made a few collages where I featured my fashion illustrations made specially for this post. Can you spot them? The medium for these illustrations is mixed: digital plus traditional. I just applied some paint digitally and painted over some of my older works. DIFFERENT WAYS TO STYLE A LONG SLEEVED MUSTARD YELLOW DRESS

Bellow you can see different ways I have worn this mustard yellow dress. I have paired it with sneakers on a number of occasions. It looks great paired with dressy strap sandals as well. If you want to wear this dress in an elegant way, you should opt for elegant shoes. It doesn't have to be a pair of heels (although heels always flatter the figure), you can also look dressed up with a stylish pair of flats. I really liked the look where I wore this dress with silver sandals with kitten heels. That combo looked so elegant and felt so look. If I still had this dress, I'd wear it again. 

STYLING A MUSTARD YELLOW DRESS WITH JEANS AND HEELED SANDALS

The second way  I styled this mustard dress while I was in Split city was by pairing it with jeans, heeled sandals and burgundy bag. When it comes to wearing jeans with dresses for summer, you should opt for lighter dresses like this one. Here is another outfit that features jeans worn with a dress. This was a really comfortable look for a walk by the sea.
