21 WAY TO STYLE A MINI FLORAL DRESS (FOR ALL SEASONS)

I'm somewhat of an enthusiast when it comes to wearing summer dresses in autumn and winter. It may have to do with the fact that I enjoy a good challenge. Plus, I really like my dresses so wearing them all year around seems like something worth the effort. Today I'll show you 21 ways to wear this floral mini dress. Most of these outfits I have already shared, but some of them are new. I'm positively sure that I have worn this dress more than thirty times, but as I don't photograph all my outfits, I only have about twenty outfits on record. Let's take a look at them, shall we?
HOW TO STYLE A MINI FLORAL DRESS FOR ANY SEASON?

1. WITH A WHITE SHIRT, A LEATHER JACKET AND HIGH BOOTS
This outfit proposal is perfect for rainy autumn and winter ways. A leather jacket looks good with everything and a white shirt is always chic.  I paired this look with high boots for extra comfort and warmth. The white and brown bag I picked matches both the white shirt and the brown boots.

2. WITH A DIY GREEN HEADBAND, BOROSANA SANDALS AND A BLACK BAG
This is my most recent styling of this dress. Remember when I told you that I only own one headband? When they became trendy again, I decided that I don't really need another headband because it is easy to change it up by wrapping different scarves around it. This time I wrapped a green belt (made of polyester) and as you can see I quite liked the result. This DIY is great if you want to be less wasteful. You can check out  this recent post to see how I tied a scarf around this headband.

3. WITH A PUFFER JACKET, A RED BLAZER, A MINI VINTAGE BAG AND CARAMEL HEELED BOOTS
Nothing is as fun as layering. Bellow you can see how I layered this look. There were a lot of layers in this one and I ended up taking most of them off, but it is good to have options. First I layered this dress with a blue hand painted vintage top, then I added a red blazer and finally a black puffer jacket. When it is really cold, I top this combo with a puffer jacket. I love wearing this floral dress with this red blazer. I feel like the two are a match made in heaven.  If it is still too warm to layer where you're from, you can opt to wear less layers. For example, I might wear this dress with just one layer (the blue top) if I feel it is warm enough. I'll definitely reach for this dress this autumn.
4. WITH A STRAW HAT, DARK GREEN SHOES, DIY NECKLACE AND A BLACK BAG
Moving on to a summer outfit I wore years ago (in 2013 I believe). Here I paired this dress with low block heeled shoes, a straw hat and a black bag. I also wore a necklace I made myself. I might wear something similar this autumn, but minus the straw hat. I will probably add a blazer, maybe a dark green one to match the shoes.

5. WITH A NAVY BLAZER, PINK BAG AND A NAVY SHIRT
I wore this outfit in April years ago, so it was originally a spring styling. However, I'd say that it is perfect for transitional weather. As you can see, here I layered this navy shirt under this floral dress. In addition, I wore a navy blazer over it. It is all about navy blue in this styling. I might wear it again.

6. WITH A LONG BLACK CARDI, A BLACK COAT, A GREEN VEST AND BOOTS
The styling you can see bellow proves how easy it is to style this dress for winter. Here I layered this dress with multi-layers. First I wore a long black cardi over it and then I added a black coat on top of that. A green scarf, a pair of tights and a pair of black boots were there for additional comfort. However, as it often happens in Croatia, the sun same out and the day ended up being quite warm so I took the coat off and wore just the black cardigan.

7. WITH A DENIM VEST, A YELLOW BAG, MULES AND A DIY NECKLACE
We're switching this up with another spring/summer styling. Pairing this dress with a denim vest seems like a good choice. I opted for some fun accessories to go along with this look, such as this lovely yellow plastic bag and a DIY necklace. I really enjoyed this summer styling. Plus, this pair of heeled mules was surprisingly comfortable!

8. WITH A LILAC SWEATER, A BLUE TARTAN SCARF AND HEELED BOOTIES
What comes after summer? Autumn! So, here is another autumn look. If you don't feel like wearing a coat but still want to stay warm, one way to do is to thrown on a cozy knit sweater. Here I added additional warm by wearing an oversized tartan scarf with it. This was such a fun combo to wear!

 9. WITH RED HAND PAINTED HEELS AND A DIY NECKLACE
One of the things I like about this floral dress is that it is easy to dress up. All you need is a pair of heels! These red ones are giving me Wizard of Oz vibes. Plus, I painted them myself and that makes them more unique. I also made the green necklace I'm wearing myself. I don't remember where the belt is from, I think I took it from another dress and I remember wearing it with coats too. I'm all for recycling things, as you can see.

10. WITH A PURPLE SCARF WORN AS BELT AND BROWN SANDALS
This is another outfit I have worn quite recently. I think the original belt this dress came with was a golden one, but I have worn with all sorts of belt. This summer I really enjoyed belting it with scarves.

11. WITH A MESH COAT, A BLUE TOP AND CARAMEL BOOTS
This is another fun twist on the mesh trend. This vintage mesh coat is perfect for autumn. I love wearing it with dresses but it looks great with jeans as well. This outfit is a bit similar to the third outfit I shared, the only difference would be this coat really.

12. WITH MULTI-COLOURED WEDGES AND BRACELETS
I love how in this look the multi-coloured wedges match my bracelets. Wedges are such a great shoe choice for summer and I like the design of this model. I'm a sucker for multi-coloured stripes.

 13. WITH A PURPLE CARDIGAN, A DIY NECKLACE AND ANIMAL PRINT SANDALS
This is another fun transitional styling. I think this dress looks lovely paired with this purple cardigan. Long cardigans are perfect for transitional weather and they can double for coats (while it is still warm enough). Another thing I like about this styling is the combination of tights and heeled sandals.

14. WITH PINK LEGGINGS, A MINI BAG AND HEELED SANDALS
Well, to be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this styling, but I decided to include it anyway. You know, somehow these leggings don't look right with this look but maybe with another shoes they would work fine. What do you think?

15. WITH A VINTAGE BLAZER,  A FOLKLORE BAG AND A PAIR OF SNEAKERS
This is one of my favourite outfits with this dress. I think it looks fabulous paired with this vintage blazer and a sneakers. The folklore bag I'm wearing was gifted to me by my late grandmother and is one of the most precious things I own. I just like everything about this look.  This outfit is very autumn appropriate so I might repeat it one of these days.

16. WITH TROPICAL PRINT SANDALS, A STRAW BAG AND A DIY NECKLACE
Do you know what I have noticed? I often pair this dress with DIY necklaces, especially in summer. Anyhow, this is another summer styling that proved very functional and practical. I already told you how much I loved these tropical print sandals so I won't repeat myself.

17. WITH A LILAC SWEATER, BLOCK HEELED SHOES AND A BROWN MINI BAG
I wore this outfit a few years ago for Mostar fair where I always do some book shopping (as you can see in the photograph bellow). Once again, I'm wearing my DIY necklace (I really do often pair my necklaces with this dress). I can definitely imagine myself wearing this again.

 18. WITH A VINTAGE VEST, A BLUE BAG AND BROWN SANDALS
You might remember this look, because I have posted it fairly recently. Another summer styling intended for strolling around Split city. This floral mini dress is really perfect for summer, but as you can see I love to wear it all year around.

20. WITH A DIY PLASTIC BAG, JEGGINGS, WHITE SOCKS AND PINK HEELS
Well, this was an interesting combo. There is a lot going on in this styling, but I quite liked it perhaps just because of that. In retrospective, I'm not sure about these socks paired with this heels. Maybe these pink ones would be a better choice? What do you think?

21. WITH A NAVY BLAZER BELTED WITH A PINK SCARF, A MINI BAG AND HEELS
We'll finishing this post with another outfit appropriate for transitional weather. Bellow you can see how I layered a white shirt under this dress and a blue blazer over it. I finished the look with a pinks scarf worn as a belt, a pair of heels and a mini bag. In addition, tights are always a good idea. I start to wear them as soon as it cools down a bit. I love to pair tights with heels for an extra feminine feel. Bellow you can see me wearing one of the most comfortable heels I own (hooray for block heels).

  3. It's such a pretty dress, I can see why you've worn it so much! I like dresses like this, they are simple outfits when it's hot but layer up so nicely for cooler weather too. I have a couple of older dresses I'm sure I'm over 30 wears with as they are very old, but I've only been blogging for 6 years so no photos of 30 wears yet! I'm getting there, haha!

Hope that your week is going well :)

  4. Gorgeous outfits! I honestly don't have a 'winter wardrobe' I wear all my clothes all year round with layers or whatever I need. It makes it more fun and you also use more of your wardrobe rather than packing things away. I hope you have a great day lovely x

  30. I used to dislike floral dresses and avoided them as much as I could. Now I have a lot of them in my closet and I think they are very feminine. I like your styles very much.

  31. Dear Ivana, yes, I like wearing summer dresses in fall and even in winter. How you styled your floral dress in that many variations is a wonderful proof how versatile a piece can be if one is as creative as you. I like all your styles and it definitely looks like you will wear your floral dress even more often!

I am also a big fan of sporting summer dresses in Autumn - I think it's fun, and I'm never ready to let go of the easy summer dresses. I've never really styled a dress with layers like this but it looks really good and I think it's a pretty cool idea - I will definitely try it out!

  38. Hi again dear,

As I told you in the previous post of the jeans, you are a really good stylist and you know how to take your outfits to the next level but using the same piece, I really like this kind of post because they show us that is not 100% necessary to buy many things, creativity is always more important than a full closet :)

Nowadays with climate change I feel that we can store our summer pieces until November haha, at least in Spain, so we can style those light pieces with some light jackets (like the one you proposed) or maybe with blazers to take those to a more formal look ;)
