FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY (D&G SPRING SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION- PART 1)

Hello dear readers and/or fellow bloggers! Today I'm back with some new fashion illustrations. I'm going to share with you one fashion sketch of  a red dress from D&G collection as well as some digital sketches based on that one sketch. The medium for my drawing is coloured pencils on paper. Digital art sketches were made with Paint 3D.  This post will be more visual than verbal and it won't be very long. Scroll down to read and see more.

THE RED AND THE PINK DRESS FROM D&G SPRING READY TO WEAR 2021 DRSS

The new D&G collection has some really pretty runaway looks. This time I focused on a red and pink dress from this collection, but there are some other looks that were stunning as well. The patchwork outfits from this collection were quite stunning. In fact, I illustrated some other runaway looks from this collection and I plan to share them soon as well.

As always, thank you for reading and visiting.

  2. I love D&G's looks, but they are problematic in the fashion community due to alleged racism (CNN article here: https://www.cnn.com/style/article/dolce-gabbana-shanghai-controversy/index.html - they seem to be getting a bit shunned in the fashion press. It's hard to separate the art from the artist, at times.

I adore your paintings here, Ivana. The colours are lovely, and I can tell you were inspired by the flowiness of the fabric!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

    1. Yes, I remember that D&G incident, it is hard to believe that ad was made with an intention of being offensive towards the Chinese as D&G were just planning to expand on Chinese market so being purposely offensive wouldn't make sense. What was all that about I have no idea. Maybe trying to draw attention? Who knows? D&G have a history of using bad PR teams and Ads for sure. I know that the responsibility ultimately lies on the CEOs of the company, but I have to wonder- who are those people and agencies working in fashion PR and how do they come end up with horrible editorials, ads and commercials? D&G are not an exception in this sense, most designers have had 'incidents' and I can think of a hundred examples of really problematic PR and Ads, not just in the far past, but in the last few years. I don't know enough about how the whole advertisement agencies work, but there are definitely some fishy things in modern advertising. That is why I prefer to just watch the raw runaway footage and tend to ignore fashion magazines and portals where one comes across all kind of crazy and problematic editorials and ads.

  9. You've captured the fluidity of the material excellently and the way it hangs against the body at the hem beautifully. It looks a really gorgeous dress! I'd defo wear the red one! Maybe not the pink!x

  10. Those oversized rose chokers are slaying me with their dreamy, romantic beauty. I can already feel my craft supplies beckoning me to whip up one inspired by D&G's beautiful offerings.

    1. I actually made similar chockers in the past, I wonder should I do it again.

    1. The chockers are pretty cool. I actually used to make these kind of chockers when I was a teenager. I would buy artificial flowers and use them to make chokers.

  13. The pink and red dresses are both standouts from the collection and your versions of them are really nicely done. You did a great job capturing the fluidity of them.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
