FASHION ILLUSTRATION OF A NAVY BLUE DRESS: WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
Hello dear blog visitors and welcome. Today I'll share with you a new fashion illustration. Again, I'm sharing a mixed print illustration based on my own outfit (featured on my blog yesterday). The medium for this fashion illustration is watercolour pencils and ballpoint pen on paper. The art brands (watercolour pencils and sketch-block) used are the same as in this post. You can buy most of my fashion illustrations here: IvanaKada.redbubble.com
HR: Zdravo dragi posjetitelji mog virtualnog kutka i dobrodošli.
MY ART PROCESS- MAKING OF THIS FASHION ILLUSTRATION
I had sketched this navy dress with a ballpoint pen and later on I drew over it with watercolour pencils so that the ballpoint pen isn't very visible. I finished the illustration by applying water with a fine brush for watercolour effect. I also added a bit of a background as I'm fond of doing. This is slowly becoming my fashion illustrating style, a bit elongated with some background and details. Not a realistic style but not very stylized either, a mixture of things I like you could say. If you follow my blog, you know that I experiment with art a lot.

DIGITAL RETOUCHING AND DIGITAL ART VERSION OF THIS FASHION ILLUSTRATION
Besides showing you my original watercolour illustration, I'll also show you the versions that I have painted or retouched digitally using Paint 3D. As you might know, I've been experimenting with digital art for a few months now. I like how to enables me to try different things without using up materials. I'm a person who is very keen on recycling so for me it is important not to be wasteful with art supplies. I love how digital art enables me to play with colours without actually wasting paper. I can try out some ideas and see whether it looks good or not. There are definitely advantages to digital art as I'm finding out. It is never too late to try something new or learn something new.

Bellow you can see another example of mixed art. Bellow I have taken the original photograph, made it transparent and then coloured over it using a brush in Paint 3D computer program. It was quite time consuming so I don't think it's something I will do again. Tracing over isn't something that appeals to me, but it was interesting as an experiment. I concluded that I liked the original painting and pasted the original painting of this navy dress over it. I don't know how much you can see but that is basically what I did. I think I learned some new things today.

DeleteHey Ivana!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I love the dress, this is one of those pieces that are so unique and that bright for themselves, I mean you just need this dress and some boots or tennis and you are more than ready to go!
I remember I tried the watercolor pencils a few years ago, despite they are the functional version of the traditional watercolor (haha i mean I love watercolor but they are pretty difficult to master), they are a good tool to start with the technique and see how you can work with water + pencils. The result is magnificent, I think you got a pretty nice result, specially with the mix of colors and the way the colors bends and go through many directions!
PS: Good luck with your t-shirt sales, hope you can find a lot of new ways to display and sell your magnificent art!
