Fashion illustration of the day/ Modna ilustracija dana

Last night I hardly got any sleep, but I'm not complaining. I have spent most of the night reading Germinal by Zola. I may be feeling like a train ran me over right now, but such a novel is surely worth one sleepless night. There is no need to be overly elaborative in my praises for Germinal is considered to be a masterpiece ( besides this is not a literature blog). However, it is so great that it deserves a mention. What I was surprised with was just how emotional my reaction to it was. Long story short, I absolutely loved this classical work of literature. So, I do recommend you to read it (in case you haven't read it yet). Now, let's say a few words about my today's post.  This outfit was really fun to illustrate. I wore it last March but I didn't get the chance to post it before. I'm kind of glad I waited until now, because it ended up inspiring me to do this illustartion. I don't often illustrate myself because it is kind of boring because there isn't that element of surprise. It is not like when I see someone and what he/she is wearing really inspires me. However, somethimes it is fun to illustrate something that I worn myself. It would be nice if I had the time to illustrate everything I wear and everything I like, but at the moment my time management skills are not as advanced. These flare jeans are old but I gave them a new twist by painting on them with textile paints (read about it in more detail here)

Reći ću još nešto i o današnjoj objavi. Nije to kao kada vidim nekoga i ono što on/ona nosi me doista nadahne.

  8. Hello Ivana :) You're right - sometimes it's great to illustrate yourself, especially when you was wearing great outfit on that day! :) I really like outcome of your masterpiece, it came out divine, well done, dear :D What about lack of time, unfortunately, I know something about that, but I hope that from time to time, you'll find some spare time to illustrate, because you're so good at it :) Take care, my friend! :)

  10. I remember that outfit! You did such a fantastic job with the illustration. I get why you don't illustrate yourself often as I feel the same when I photograph myself but sometimes something really interesting comes of it. That book must be really something that you couldn't put it down to sleep :)

  18. Amazing illustration, dear Ivana, and for me there's the surprising feeling :) Because I didn't draw it, and I loved to see that! I really loved your coat and illustration and I find you very sweet and beautiful, besides talented and intelligent! You know what, this may not be a literature blog, but why not sharing with us the books you read - because many people simply don't read books, they only read facebook and are so self-absorbed in their looks and coffee meetings every day, that it is so refreshing to read that you love books! And Germinal, a masterpiece! So, thank you for the recommendation - and from Zola I recommend J'Accuse, but before that the political situation of the time must be read as well :) Super beautiful post, hope you have a very good week!

  30. Ohhh, this is the outfit I saw in your textile paints post! It was my favourite one out of the ones you linked, I think I mentioned that in my comment - so cool to see a fashion illustration inspired by it! :) <3 I love the idea of painting on your own clothes, it adds a little personal touch which I think makes the clothing so much more special! Loving the painting as always, Ivana - you are super talented and I could never get tired of your art! Also, I don't mind your blog being an occasional literature blog... ;) x Your book reviews are always so soothing to read! x
