Making of an Acrylic Painting (Fashion Illustration Edition)

How are you? Are you ready for the weekend? Do you have any special plans? Today I'm sharing another fashion illustration painted with acrylic paints with you. The medium is acrylic paints on mixed art paper. This fashion illustration was actually inspired by one of my own outfits (you can see it here). I've also decided to share with you the painting process.  As you will see if you scroll bellow, I've included a charcoal sketch and a 'work in process' photograph. I know that a lot of people are curious to see the painting process. I'm the same way. I enjoy seeing wip (work in process) photographs. I just find the whole process of a painting coming to life fascinating. This particular painting was a lot of fun to paint, perhaps because it is all about good vibes. I'm not sure how I would call this particular style. This painting was as much about the location as it was about the outfit itself. I wanted the painting to capture that spring feeling. I hope I was at least somewhat successful. I do have some other paintings coming up, so let me know if you would like me to prepare more 'making of' posts (like this one) or would you just prefer to see the finished version. Thank you for visiting. Have a lovely day!

Kako ste? Jeste spremni za vikend? Imate li posebne planove? Danas dijelim još jednu modnu ilustraciju naslikanu s akrilnim bojama.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.

14 WAYS TO STYLE ONE BLUE DENIM SKIRT: SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES

Sustainable fashion is such a hot topic right now, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into a fashion revolution. More and more people are trying to minimize their carbon print by re-wearing their clothes and shopping their closets. One good way to build a functioning wardrobe you'll love to shop is to make sure you have a couple of essential items in it. These basic pieces can help you shop your closet more easily and become more sustainable in your fashion choices. A denim skirt is one such classical and essential item.  Today I'll show you ten ways to style a denim skirt. I had this particular denim skirt for a couple of years, it's by Croatian denim brand Amadeus (not sponsored) that I can recommend for its quality denim. For me this skirt is one of those items that are season-less and by that I mean those clothing items that can be worn in any season. If you're creative enough, you can figure out a way to wear most of your clothes in any season, but some ite…

HOW I GOT INSPIRED BY D&G AUTUMN/WINTER 2019/2020 COLLECTION? (PART 1)

Yesterday I finally took the the time to watch (and listen) to the Dolce & Gabbana Autumn/Winter 2019/2020 collection. The runaway show was organized in retro style and lasted about half and hour. Instead of music, it featured a British narrator who commented on the designs in the old style (that is how fashion shows used to be presented, narrated instead of accompanied by the music). Anyhow, I found the both the narration and the narrator charming. The fact that the narrator pointed out all the materials used was quite helpful. The models seemed to move quite quickly, but there were 127 looks displayed so the show took a quite some time to finish. It took me twice as long to study the photographs as to see the show. The trend analysis took even more time. However, that time was not spent in vain for I was finally inspired to ponder my autumn and winter outfits. What do you know? D&G Autumn/Winter collection gave me plenty of inspiration for the colder season ahead. I don'…

SEVEN WAYS TO WEAR A WHITE DOTTED PENCIL SKIRT : SUSTAINABLE FASHION FILES

A surprising number of people are under the false impression that you have to spend a lot of money in order to dress in a sustainable way. The good news is that sustainable fashion does't have to be expensive or difficult.  You can help the environment just by shopping your closet more. As easy as that! Shopping your closet and taking good care of your clothing are wonderful and easy ways to be more sustainable. Do you know what is the best thing about these two ecologically friendly fashion strategies? They don't cost you anything. By maximizing the usage of items in your closet and learning how to properly care for your clothing items, you can both help the environment and your personal finances. I already addressed this topic in my last post, when I showed you fourteen ways to wear one basic item. Relying on our wardrobe essentials is such an effortless way to be more green in our fashion choices.
Take this white pencil skirt for example. It belonged to my mother when she…
