28 WAYS TO WEAR A GREEN TARTAN PUFFER JACKET
This Alpine Pro green puffer is one of my 'go to' pieces when it comes to winter outwear. I spotted this jacket in kids department of a sportswear shop seven ago and was so happy when it fit me. It was an impulsive buy, but one that payed off. Normally, I'm not an impulsive buyer and I prefer to think things through, but when I saw this ski green tartan jacket I knew it was meant to be. I was immediately drawn by its print and colour. I'm not sure how many times I have worn this tartan puffer jacket since I bought it back in 2013, but I'm pretty sure it's more than 30. My goal with all clothes is to hit a minimum of 30 wears. While I browsed my blog archives I found that I have worn this puffer in 26 outfit posts. I added two more outfits I haven't posted before and ended up with number 28. I'm positive that I wore it more than thirty. I don't take photographs of my daily outfits (maybe I should) so I cannot give you an exact number, but this jacket sure payed off. The best thing about it is that I was able to pair and wear it with everything from short to long skirts and dresses to jeans.
1. WITH A GREEN VEST, A PAIR OF STRAIGHT CUT JEANS AND BOOTSMy first outfit proposal is winter look I wore for travelling so it is a comfy look one could say.
The cropped cut of this jacket appeals to me as it allows me to show of my skirts and jeans when I wear it. However, when I pair it with jeans in winter sometimes I feel a bit cold. The solution for that problem is to add another layer (like I did here with the long vest) or to wear it with leggings underneath the jeans. I often pair this jacket with jeans.
I said that I often wear this green tartan puffer with jeans and while that is certainly true I also like to pair it with skirts. Bellow you can see me wearing this green jacket with a white vintage skirt and a silk pussy bow shirt. I liked this outfit because it's all about a mix of styles. This puffer jacket is pretty casual so it looks interesting paired with this vintage skirt that was originally a part of a suit. I like to mix casual items with dressier ones.
3. WITH WHITE DAD SNEAKERS AND BLACK GYM PANTS
This is a sporty styling I wore for hiking. I often hike from Jelsa to Vrboska on island Hvar. It's an easy 6 kilometer hike, about 12 km both ways and the views are amazing.
Sometimes it is fun to mix printed items. This jacket has a tartan print but that didn't stop me from wearing it with a floral skirt because I like to mix styles. This was such a fun look!
This was a very cozy winter styling. I wore a red hoodie under this jacket and even opted for a hat.
I loved wearing this outfit because it was so warm and cozy but at the same time feminine and chic.
7.WITH A YELLOW TARTAN SKIRT, SNEAKERS AND A CARAMEL BAG
This yellow tartan skirt is one of my favourite pieces ever. I often pair it with this jacket.
Who says pink and green are too much together? I rather like this combination of colours, it makes me think of nature and flowers.
Wearing this ski jacket with skirts is always fun because it is not expected. I loved the outfit with this fancy skirt and camel boots.
Sometimes a basketball hat is all you need. I loved how it added to the casual vibe of this look.
This is one of my all time favourites shoots for my blog. I loved how the sun showcased Mostar city in the background. Plus, this outfit was pretty cool.
This was my travelling styling for exploring Padova city in Italy. Fun times.
13. WITH A BLACK MINI SKIRT, A CAP AND HEELED BOOTS
Another 'Italian' styling and by that I mean I wore this combo for a visit to Monte Cassino monastery in Italy. I loved how this jacket looked with a pencil skirt and heeled boots.
This was another winter styling I absolutely loved. Here I paired this jacket with a green dress.
I have so much love for these vintage Levi's. They seem to match everything and this green tartan puffer is no exception. Another thing I love about this outfit are the brown heeled boots I hand painted myself. DIY touches like that always make an outfit extra special.
How I loved wearing this outfit. This black skater dress matched this puffer so well. The green scarf seemed like the perfect finishing touch. I still remember this winter styling fondly.
This was a fun styling that was all about layering. I also really liked the pop of colour with the bag.
Over the years, I have had a lot of fun pairing this jacket with items that didn't seem like an obvious pairing at first. Take this pair of wide sand trousers for example. They were not the obvious choice, but they worked well with this green puffer jacket.
I like how these black pointy heeled boots make this green jacket and yellow skirt pairing more feminine and chic. I always had a soft spot for pointy boots.
This was another casual styling with a striped sweater, flare jeans and pointy boots. A very functional combo that also felt good. What more could one wish for?
This was another time I paired this puffer jacket with a white vintage skirt and I quite liked the contrast. The boots were there for warmth and they proved very comfortable too.
22. WITH JEANS, BIKER BOOTS AND A BACKPACK
I haven't shared this outfit before. As you can see, this is a look I wore for a catamaran ride.
Besides vintage white skirts, I also enjoy pairing this green jacket with my black vintage dress.
Another yellow and green combo, this time with a touch of black. I layered a black sweater dress underneath this yellow tartan skirt for warmth. A winning winter outfit for sure!

Another hiking styling I wore while exploring Jelsa on island Hvar. I love this scarf so much.
26. WITH A WHITE MAXI SKIRT, A GREEN SCARF AND BLACK SNEAKERS
When I visited Rome back in 2013, I had paired this green jacket with a white maxi skirt and sneakers. Perhaps it wasn't the most flattering of outfits, but it was warm and functional.
28. WITH VINTAGE LEVI'S, HEELED BOOTS AND A PINK BAG
As always, thank you for reading and visiting. Have a great weekend!

This might be the first outfit with this jacket I posted on my blog back in 2013. This green jacket is almost as old as my blog actually. I'm happy I still have and wear it.

I'll finish this post with another outfit I loved wearing, a combination of vintage Levi's, a lilac sweater and heeled boots. The pink bag was also a nice colour contrasts. It can be so refreshing to wear girly colour in winter, don't you agree?
As always, thank you for reading and visiting. Have a great weekend!
What a find this jacket was and I love that you found it in the children's section! I see lots of cute things when I walk by the kids' sections but I'm pretty sure nothing will fit me (I'm tall; otherwise, I could probably wear something from that section). It is a very unique pattern for a jacket and I can't believe how many things it works so well with! I just love that floral skirt you paired it with but I also love it with the white skirts. I love that plaid yellow skirt and when you pair it with the black tights, it looks like the jacket was made to go with it! I also love it with the dressier skirt and the pink skirt. I think I need a close-up of the hand-painted boots - how does the paint stay on with wear?

I'm tall too, I think this jacket was there by mistake, there is no kid label on it. The paint doesn't stay that well with the wear unless they are real leather boots and it is a real leather paint. I have leather paint but I only use it for real leather. These boots were faux leather so when they started peeling I just used acrylic paint on them. I do this pretty often with lesser quality boots, it is a quick fix but it doesn't last long. Eventually the paint starts peeling off and one has to get rid of them. In the future I might buy only real leather shoes because the faux leather ones never last long and that seems so wasteful to me, to have a pair of shoes that falls apart quickly- the paint is just a temporary fix.
Deleteit's a great jacket on you and it's impressive you've got photos of it so many times even if you only take blog photos and not photos of your everyday outfits, you can tell it's something you reach for often! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend :)
Away From Blue

Gle ti koliko ta jakna traje, a vjerojatno će trajati još godinama.
DeleteWhat a lovely jacket, and how amazing that you found it in the children's department! I don't think anything from the children's department would fit me ;-) Scrolling through your 28 options, the outfits which caught my eye the most are the one with the white skirt and the pussy-bow blouse, the one with the pink skirt (matchy!) and, finally, the one with the flared jeans and the striped jumper! Who'd have thought such a distinctive jacket, in a rather unusual but lovely colourway, would be that versatile? Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, Ivana! xxx
ReplyDeleteyes, who would have thought it would prove so versatile?
DeleteHow cute is that jacket? I love the tartan! xo

Thank you!
DeleteYou wouldn't always think that a print green jacket would go with so much, but you have shown that it really is versatile. I think my favorite outfits are the ones with the print mixing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I absolutely love that you own this kind of puffer jacket. Most of the women I see around here have a plain black one. Boring galore!! Yours shows how fun you are Ivana.
