1. Wear it with a black leather jacket and biker boots
If you want to go easy with the colour, why not opt for black clothing items to go along your yellow skirt. You know what they say, black is always a good idea. Black and yellow colour combos have been popular lately, and I have actually illustrated 3 runaways looks in this colour sheme (you can see them here and here ). Long story short, a lot of brands (Versaci, Louis Vuitton etc.) have turned to the yellow checkered trend. Pairing yellow with black is quite popular too, so taking that black leather jacket out of your closet seems like a good choice. If you want to make your outfit more casual and dressed down, opt for biker boots. Not only are they comfortable to wear, they also allow you to get that rocker chic vibe on.
2. Layer a long cardi under the leather jacket to make it more subtle in appearance
If you are not comfortable wearing such a bold print, you can always layer a coat or a long cardi over it. For example, to create a 'peek a boo' effect all you need is a long asymmetrically cut cardigan or a kimono. This way you can feel more comfortable wearing such a bold print. Bonus points for layering and keeping warm.
3. Pair it with a checkered jacket for a complete checkered look
I wore almost exactly the same outfit a few years ago and it is a look I'm only glad to repeat. I'm a big fan of green (as you know) and there is something very powerful about the combination of yellow and green. Mixing prints with prints is always fun, right? This outfit is also suitable for those spring days that still feel like winter, you know the kind of chilly days some of us have had plenty of lately.
