20+ WAYS TO WEAR A TARTAN BLAZER FOR COLD WEATHER

Tartan is a true classic if you ask me. If you are a fan of this pattern, you might enjoy this post. Today I'll show you 20 plus ways to style a green tartan blazer for cold weather, starting with how I wore this green tartan blazer a few days ago. It was such a lovely day! Don't you just love those sunny winter days? I always feel better when it is sunny, even when it's a bit cold. On this particular sunny day, I decided to wear my tartan blazer. I wore two layers under it and topped it with a faux fur stole, so I was feeling quite warm and cozy. I paired it with a dusty pink skirt and a very comfy (and old) pair of brown heeled boots.

Anyhow, when I went on this sunny stroll with a colleague of mine, she complimented me on this green tartan blazer. That made me reflect on how many times I have worn  this tartan blazer. While I didn't keep a written record and cannot give you a precise number, I can tell you that this green blazer is one of the most worn items in my closet. It's made mostly from wool and it's delightfully warm. I bought it many years ago (possibly even back in 2011 or 2010). It was made by a fashion house Uzor that doesn't exist anymore and it is actually quite a rarity. I don't think they made too many of these coats. There were only a few of them (each in a different colour) in the entire shop when I was there last.

20 WAYS TO WEAR A TARTAN BLAZER

1. WITH A GREY DRESS, LEGGINGS AND SNEAKERS
I wanted to start this with an old look. Why, this photo was taken when I started my blog- and that was some time ago (November 2012). I really like how comfy this styling is. I was also sporting some red details (I layered a red top under my dress and opted for a coral necklace)
I'm actually wearing a dress under the skirt and this tartan blazer here. It a layering trick I use quite often. That way I also maximize my dresses and use them as tops. I do like how this printed dress added additional visual interest (like this tartan blazer isn't loud enough).
I really liked the contrast between this bold orange dress and this tartan blazer. The statement necklace is very special to me because I made it myself. This was another comfy but still feminine styling that I can totally imagine wearing again.

4. WITH JEANS, A TURTLENECK SWEATER DRESS AND A FOLKLORE BAG
I'm not sure have I ever posted this outfit or not. I stumbled upon  these photographs recently. I think they were taken five or six years ago. It is hard to tell because I always look the same.
 5. WITH A PINK SKIRT, A BURGUNDY TURTLENECK AND CARAMEL BOOTS
I wore this outfit about two months ago or something like that. Pairing it with a dusty pink skirt and caramel heeled boots proved a good idea. Sometimes I like to keep things simple, but often I quite enjoy pairing this blazer with unexpected colours.
6. WITH LEGGINGS, A GREY SWEATER DRESS, A GREEN SCARF AND A RED BAG
I will definitely re-wear this outfit. A sweater dress paired with leggings is one of the comfiest combos ever. I do like how it looks paired with this tartan blazer, a green scarf and the red bag.
This is another outfit proposal with jeans, but it is a bit more dressed up. Speaking of dressing up, heels are a lovely way to dress up just about anything. For this look I also opted for a statement bracelet and some subtle earrings.
I'm definitely noticing a pattern here. I often style this green blazer with grey dresses. It might be because grey is such a great neutral colour and it looks great with everything.
Often when I wear this tartan blazer in winter, I focus on layering my items under it. However, this blazer is also a great item to wear under a coat. Wearing our blazers under coats in winter is a great style tip and one that keeps us warm too.
Here is another cold weather styling that manages to be feminine and warm at the same time. A winner in my book. Who says winter months need to be boring?

This is another feminine and elegant proposal. What I love about this outfit is the fact I made this midi dress myself. I can definitely see myself wearing this again.
Now, this is another comfortable casual styling but the faux fur stole adds some glam. I kept the colours in this one pretty simple, opting for a black skirt, leggings and sneakers but adding some colour with a leather caramel bag.
Styling this green tartan blazer with a denim skirt seemed like such a no brainer. To add some colour, I wore a striped turtleneck sweater, a pink bag and brown boots.
This is one of my all time favourite looks. I actually wore a silk blouse under this green dress and I liked the result a lot. I also liked how it looks with this green tartan blazer on top.

15. WITH NAVY PANTS, A RED TOP AND BOOTS
This is a combo I wore back in autumn. If I were to wear it now, I would probably add some winter accessories for warmth, for example a nice scarf.

16. WITH A METALLIC DRESS AND HIGH BOOTS
If you want to create an unique outfit with your tartan blazer, why not pair it with a metallic dress? That will sure get you noticed. I just love the combination of this blazer with this dress.

17.  A GREY DRESS, HEELED BOOTS AND BURGUNDY BAG
This outfit isn't too exciting, but it works. Another 'neutral grey dress meets a coloured bag' combo. If you're stuck in a rot, pair your neutral dress with a tartan blazer and opt for a colourful bag. This combination is so easy but at the same time it can look so stylish and put together. Heeled boots are a fantastic option of you want to add some height but stay warm at the same time.

18. WITH A FLORAL DRESS, A VEST AND MOCCASIN SHOES
This tartan blazer is so versatile. I even wore it to try out a new hiking track. I wore the same outfit in the city in the morning, I just changed my shoes to moccasins once I got in the mountains.

19. WITH JEANS, BIKER BOOTS AND A STATEMENT SCARF
This was a travelling outfit that proved wonderfully comfortable. You can never go wrong with a statement scarf. I wore this outfit with different scarves and always liked the result.

20. WITH CAPRI JEANS, CARAMEL BOOTS AND A GREEN SCARF
Accessorizing with scarves can be so much fun and I do like to come up with new ways to style them with this green blazer. Do you see how I wrapped this green scarf around my head below?

That would be all for today. Do you have an item you wear often? Thank you for reading!

    Baci!

  10. Oh, I certainly love a sunny winter day. We had one yesterday, but unfortunately I had to work :-( But mostly we had grey and rainy weather ... I'm a big fan of tartan pattern, and your green jacket is just perfect! As is the first styling, with that cute furry capelet! I'm in love! Other favourites are the styling with the orange dress, the elegant one with the midi dress and heels, and the one with the black skirt and caramel bag (which is perfection, by the way) and again that delightful capelet. Although I must admit it also pairs very well with denim! A very versatile jacket indeed. No wonder it gets so many outings! Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing weekend, Ivana! xxx

  11. It's such a great tartan blazer and you wear it so well! I really like the way it looks with jeans, jeans and a blazer is a combo I love but I haven't worn much recently with it being so warm - really need to wear it as soon as the weather cools!

Hope you have a fun weekend planned! We have a birthday party to go to today :)

  14. Great photos and ideas. I have a kilt in my family's clan, but only have a few times a year I can wear it, generally as a formal (even though I don't have to wear the formal top and can make it more causal).
