APRIL RECAP (16 SPRING OUTFITS WITH BLAZERS)

I know I'm a bit late with my April recap, but as they say, better late than never. Typically when I do monthly recaps, I tend to talk a bit about everything. However, this time I'll just focus on fashion and outfits. I'll share with you a few outfits that I haven't had the chance to share before, as well as some of my last month's favourites. What has April taught me in terms of style? The most important thing could be summed up in one sentence: blazers are girl's best friends. I've been wearing blazers on every day basis in April. They're the perfect item for spring. I've possibly worn all blazers I own this April and I especially enjoyed styling my vintage ones. If you're looking for some inspiration for wearing blazers in spring, today you have came to the right place.

TARTAN BLAZER WORN WITH DENIM

Bellow you can see a very typical April outfit, a denim skirt paired with a turtleneck and a tartan blazer. April has been quite temperamental, so sometimes I had to rely on layers to stay warm. Blazers are great not just because they're practical but because they make every outfit look a bit more elegant, professional and dressed up.

OLIVE BLAZER WORN WITH  SKIRTS AND DRESSES

Bellow you can see how I styled this olive green blazer with a printed skirt (that I happen to love). I've also included a photograph of one of my new paintings I took for framing. I still haven't hang it out, I'm not sure what spot on the wall I shall use for it.  Besides this outfit I haven't shared before, I'm also sharing two outfits I already blogged about (link is bellow the photograph if you want to see more of it).

VINTAGE PASTEL GREEN BLAZER WORN WITH SNEAKERS

I'm warming up to styling blazers with sneakers. I think the end result can be quite fresh. This time I paired this vintage pastel green blazer with a white dress and leggings.  A very comfortable styling. Perfect for being a tourist in your own town. Bellow you can see me exploring Mostar city. If you want to see more outfits with this vintage blazer, you can check out some of my old posts. Generally speaking, I like to pair pastel green with different colours and shades. It goes well with everything and it's ideal for spring.

NAVY BLAZER WORN WITH SPRING OUTFITS

I wore this navy blazers three times on my blog this April and once in March. This navy blazer is by a Croatian fashion house that doesn't exist anymore- Uzor. I used to love their stuff and was really sorry to see them close down. I enjoyed wearing all the outfits I created with this blazer. This is such a great quality blazer, I'm really happy I bought it years ago. I'm sure I'll wear it for years to come.

VINTAGE WHITE BLAZER WORN WITH A DRESS

I wore this white vintage blazer once this month (that I have captured on camera, possibly even more than that). Bellow you can see how I wore it with an orange dress. Back in March, I also styled it with a pink dress (You can see that post by following the link  WHITE BLAZER WORN WITH A PINK DRESS ). I think a white blazer can really come in hand during spring time. This one is quite warm, so it is perfect for those transitional days. I also really like its cut (that is becoming trendy again). Plus, it is a size or two too big for me, but I actually like the oversize chic with this particular cut.

YELLOW BLAZER WORN WITH DARK TONES

I only wore this vintage yellow blazer twice on blog last month, but in reality I wore it often than that. I like to pair it with dark tones to make a contrasting statement. I will probably wear this blazer a lot in May as well. It is very practical and easy to wear. Plus, I love this shade of yellow. How about you? Do you own a yellow blazer? Do you think it's a good item to invest in?

RED BLAZER WORN WITH DARKER ITEMS

This red blazer has been a staple in my wardrobe since I bought it. I absolutely love this bright shade of red. What is more, the 'almost cropped' cut of this blazer is fabulous. I often pair it with dresses and high waist skirts, but this April I wore it mostly with dark high rise pants. It looks best with high rise items because of its cut. I'm happy with how I styled it last April, I might repeat some of these outfits. I like the contrast between the bright pink and black (or navy) tones.

HAND PAINTED BEIGE BLAZER WORN WITH A RED DRESS

Bellow you can see one of my favourite outfits from April. This vintage beige blazer was a gift from a family member. I customized it by painting red hearts on it with textile paints and I wore it with a red midi dress with statement sleeves. I used to believe that this dress was only for summer (due to statement sleeves) but I realized you can get away with wearing statement sleeves with blazer if you choose the oversize fit.

As always, thank you for reading and visiting. I'll be joining Nancy's Friday link up with this post.  Have a lovely Sunday!

  6. On top of showing us your fabulous sense of fashion and the gorgeous scenery of your home country, you've been a real advocate for the humble blazer and all its fashion possibilities. Well done, you! This really is an item of clothing that can be either dressed up or down, and looks great with trousers, skirts and dresses. I've got quite a few blazers myself, and it's time I search them out and start wearing them more. I wore a lovely floral one yesterday, which I'll show you in a future post. My particular favourites of yours are the tartan one and that very cute red one! Have a great week! xxx

HOW TO STYLE RED CLOTHING ITEMS FOR WINTER?

A few posts ago (yes, bloggers calculate time in post activity), I wrote about red accessories for winter but I also wanted to write about red clothing items you can wear this time of year. In fact, I was planning to write a big post about wearing red in winter but I realized that I need to split it in two because it was too long. Apparently, I have a lot to say about why wearing red in winter is a good idea. So, today I'll basically post the part two of my red in winter fashion musings. Red is a bold, energetic and dramatic colour. If you ask me, wearing red is a great way to invoke good luck in our new year. You can pair red with neutral colours to tone it down or with vibrant ones to make your outfits even more noticeable. Lunar Year festivities are a perfect time to embrace the red clothing items. Moreover, Valentine's Day is not too far off either. If you're looking for some winter red outfit inspiration, you have come to the right place. HOW TO WEAR RED IN WINTER?   My…

10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I…

VISIT MALA STINIVA BAY ON ISLAND HVAR WITH ME (PART 1)

Today I'm taking you to Mala Stiniva Bay on island Hvar. I might talk for a living, but before this beauty I was left speechless and it's not even the first time I have visited this place. If you remember, I blogged about Mala Stiniva Bay back in 2018 and I originally visited it a few years prior to that rather lengthily travel post. My husband loved this place, so I promised to take him back some time. We went there last week. After I finished working, I put on a pair of white sneakers and drove there. When we got there, we just stared at this bay because it is so overwhelming beautiful. Now, that says something coming from someone who spent most of their summers on this island, mind you. Even for high standards set by island Hvar, this bay is enchanting. Most bays on island Hvar are absolutely gorgeous, but somehow this one stole my heart.  Mala Stiniva Bay belongs to Poljica village on island Hvar (not to be confused with a group of villages located on Dalmatian coast that…
