HOW TO STYLE PEARL SOCKS WITH HEELS? SPRING OUTFIT IDEAS
How to wear socks with heels? An informed answer to that question would have to depend on what kind of outfit you are trying to put together. If you are going for a clean, elegant or monochrome styling, then it is best that your socks match your heels. If you want a feminine or a girly vibe, best opt for some sweet pastel shade, like blush pink, cream or lavender. Matching your socks with your heels will make you look more put together. In fact, a monochrome heel and sock combo might be the perfect way to dive into this trend. Similarly, a more luxurious sock material can upgrade your outfit instantly. A pair of lace or tulle socks will blend in with an elegant pair of heels seamlessly. However, you might want to be brave and rock your gym socks with heels. Why not if that's your thing? As with any outfit idea, it is really up to you to figure out how to make it work for your style.
You can always mix and match for a more fashion forward look. This obviously applies to different kind of socks, not just the ones with pearls. I suppose the added bonus of pearl socks is that (besides being feminine) these socks also give out that girly vibe, and that makes it easy to pair them with anything from sneakers to heels. Pearl socks are a cute option for spring as well. Moreover, you can even create your pearl socks yourself. If you are feeling the desire to rock the statement sock trend, but you haven't found anything you like, or you're trying to cut down on fast fashion, you can always pull a DIY. Sew some pearls, crystals or buttons onto your favourite pair of socks. The best thing about this DIY project is that you can always reverse it. Simply cut out the pearls when you get tired of them. Just remember to use a thin thread so you don't damage the socks.
This pink pair I'm sporting today isn't a result of a DIY project. I bought this pair of pink socks with pearls a week or so ago in some tiny no name shop. The bouquet is a DIY, though. I bought a pink rose and made this bouquet from stretch. I picked some greenery in my garden and found some left over decorative paper I had at home. I always feel good when I manage to get some upcycling and recycling done. What do you think about my bouquet? I love the combination of green and pink ( I told you that green and pink is my new inspiration combo). It's so much fun to make bouquets and floral arrangements. I'd love to talk about it some more, but it is best that I return to the topic of today's post: heels and socks pairing! I'm going to show you how I styled these socks with two pairs of shoes: a pink pair of stilettos and a pair of BW heeled sandals. As far as clothes is considered, I went with my vintage blazer and dress formula.
PEARL SANDALS OUTFIT PROPOSAL NO. 1
A WHITE VINTAGE BLAZER STYLED WITH A PINK VINTAGE DRESS
How to style pear sock in a feminine way? Opt for pink heels, and then pair them with a vintage dress and blazer. This is my feminine take on the pearl sock trend. This vintage double breasted white blazer has been my go to jacket lately and I trust that readers of my blog will recognize this pink dress with floral beauty. This beauty arrived from New Zealand many many years ago as a gift for my mother, and fortunately my mother had the sense to keep it, even if she worn it only once. I've been wearing it since I found it in her closet. The heels are not vintage, they were gifted to me years ago by some online shop whose name I can't remember. You can probably find similar models easily. How do you feel about this pear sock styling? I think it came out pretty well.
PEARL SOCK OUTFIT PROPOSAL NUMBER 2:
A VINTAGE CORD JACKET WORN WITH A VINTAGE DRESS
My second outfit proposal for pear and heels combo comes in a slightly darker palette. Here I styled this pink vintage dress with a burgundy cord blazer and a pair of black and white heels. The zebra print heels are pretty old and they are from Naughty Monkey. I also wore a straw hat with a pink scarf tied around the hat to keep the pink vibes going. The mix between the light and the darker colours can look interesting for spring. Not long ago, I paired this dress with another darker blazer ( see here). I wore another cord (lighter) jacket here. I love to wear cord blazers and jackets in the spring because they are so comfy. Cord denim in particular is a wonderful choice, this material seems perfect for spring. How do you like this styling?
PEARL SOCKS OUTFIT PROPOSAL NO.3:
A BATHROBE COAT
My final outfit proposal features my new tartan bathrobe coat. You can also see how I styled it for transitional weather here. Slowly but surely the days are becoming warmer, so more sock and heels outfits might be in order. What is your opinion about this sock and heels combo? Do you wear it yourself? I remember when the sight of tourists in sandals and socks used to horrify me in my teenage days, but now I see the sense in it. They say that looking for comfort is the sign of growing old, but I don't care because I think growing old is a blessing anyway. Back to the subject- yes, now I get why many tourists wear sandals with socks. That way they are neither cold nor hot, and it helps with blisters. The reason why we get blisters is the fraction between our shoes and skin. This can be avoided or downplayed by wearing socks. Kudos who ever thought of making socks a statement item again. They have definite advantages in the comfort departmental. Heels are not the most comfy of shoes, so pairing heels and socks can be the perfect compromise. Are you thinking of trying it?
As always thank you for reading and visiting. I wish you all a fantastic weekend!
