UMAG - THE WESTERNMOST TOWN IN CROATIA (PART 2)

My last post about the westernmost Croatian town Umag was short and sweet. Likewise, my second post about Umag will be on the short side. In my last post, I didn't write the real reason why I was in Umag. You see, I wasn't really visiting it as a tourist. I actually relocated to Umag town back in May for work reasons. At the moment I'm working full time in the tourism sector so with the high seasons and everything I'm quite busy. The working days in the summer (during the high season) are usually quite long. They start early in the morning and end up late at night (with breaks) so I haven't had much time for blogging and posting. I promise to make it up to you in the future.

At the start of this month, I relocated again (for work). My company has sent me to a new location in Croatia. Before I reveal where I am at the moment, I'll like to share with you another post about Umag city. Moreover, I will leave link to more posts about Croatia that you might find useful in case you're planning to visit. I did enjoy my stay in Umag a lot, even if I was working hard all the time. The touristic season in Umag doesn't really start in the Summer, they actually have all year round tourism. Naturally, you will find that most people visit during the high season that is during the summer months. It was a pleasure for me to work there during May and June. I feel like I have learned quite a lot about Umag in my time spent there. It really is a gorgeous little town.

I have already written about the beautiful church and architecture in Umag. I tried to captured some of its charming details with my photography. All of these photographs were taken on my free day. Surprisingly, the beach  I liked the most was the one at the centre of the city, right next to the beautiful historical church. I much preferred that beach to the hotel resort beaches.

I had a very nice time living in Umag and I hope to return there some day.

NOTES FROM UMAG (WHAT I WILL MISS THE MOST):

- AMAZING COWORKERS AND SUPER FRIENDLY PEOPLE
I've met some really lovely people in Umag that I hope to see again.
- THE BEST FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE (HOTEL AURORA!)
Hotel Aurora has the most amazing chefs. I cannot praise them enough.
- AMAZING ESPRESSO AT THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN
The city centre is full of cafes with amazing espressos.
- WONDERFUL SERMONS AT THE HISTORICAL CHURCH
The sermons were really lovely!
- YOGA CLASSES IN THE MORNING IN THE AMAZING CORAL HOTEL
I loved working in hotels Aurora and Coral (part of the Blue Lagoon hotel chain)

  10. What a stunning town, and look at those brilliant blue skies!
I'd been wondering at the unusual gaps in posting, but I'm relieved to hear that it's due to your new job rather than ill health. A job in tourism sounds exciting yet stressful. I hope you are keeping well, my friend xxx

  11. Hello Ivana, I was happy to see your updates over here again!

I totally imagine how tiring could be to realocate in a new place, so good luck with all the processes that are linked to moving to a new place! I don't know a lot about Umag but it seems a lovely place to live and work, specially since you have all these views, the sea and some nature around.

I really hope you manage to get the best out of this experience, I am sure :) Also thank you for sharing with us bits of your new life. I can imagine tourism season must be quite busy in Croatia and many similar places, it is like that in Spain so good luck with work.

I also like the colors in your outfit! I hope your health is doing well!

  21. Umag je predivan grad. Jedne godine bila sam tamo za vrijeme ATP Umag i osim u moru i sunčanju uživala i u teniskim mečevima. Drago mi je vidjeti kako si lijepo iskoristila vrijeme tamo i uživala.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
