STYLING A YELLOW JUMPSUIT FOR SUMMER ( BAY TORAC, ISLAND HVAR)

How to style a yellow floral jumpsuit for summer? You know when I packed for island Hvar (Croatia), this yellow jumpsuit was one of the first things I packed. I don't wear jumpsuits and playsuits that often during the colder months but I opt for them often enough when it gets warmer. One great thing about a floral jumpsuit is that it is a statement piece on its own. That means that styling it is quite easy. Another advantage of this kind of garment is that you can easily dressed up or down. I wore this yellow jumpsuit to beach, so I dressed it down with a beach bag and white sandals. If I were to dress it up, I would probably pair it with heels (as I did here and here).

Jumpsuits are simply ideal for vacation wear. They are so easy to thrown on. I like to wear them over swimsuits for that beach chic look. I got this jumpsuit in a collaboration last year, and I'm still not bored of it. I definitely plan to wear it a lot for my island Hvar trip. Yellow is such a great colour for summer, isn't it? I think jumpsuits and rompers both work well as beach wear and every day summer outfits. They can even be worn as evening wear. Indeed,  jumpsuits can be quite versatile! If you like prints as much as I do, then be sure to pick up a printed one. Now tell me, do you like wearing jumpsuits?

MEETING THE SUMMER IN ISLAND HVAR, CROATIA
I decided to greet this summer in the best possible way: by travelling to island Hvar, Croatia. This green jewel surrounded by crystal clear Adriatic sea is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. My destination? Island village Gdinj, or more precisely bay Torac. Some of my long time readers might remember that I have roots here. My mother is from this island, and my parents live here most months of the year (the rest they live in Split city). Like most villages on the island, Gdinj has experienced reduction of its population. This is a global phenomena and probably not specific to this area. Everywhere in the world, villages are increasingly becoming deserted as population moves to cities for work. It has been so since the industrial revolution (if I'm not mistaken) and as that is not the topic of today's post, I'll skip it. Anyhow, Gdinj's population got smaller with time. However, during the summer months this changes, as most locals still return here for the summer (and most of them rent their summer houses). Tourism isn't anything new here, although in the past it wasn't done on this scale. Now the majority of houses in all the bays are available for rent and the renting goes so well it is impossible to find a free apartmant once the summer starts.

Gdinj, like most villages here, encompasses many bays. It is placed in the middle you could say, meaning that you can see both sides of the island from the village itself. Some of the bays are located a bit farther away, some closer but the average distance from the village itself is about 4 km. Today I'm showing you Torac which is located on the southern side of the island. The bays located on the southern side have a view of island Korčula and Pelješac, while the northern bays have a view of Makarska and Croatian coast. Most village have about a dozen bays at each side (that are owned by locals).  In the old days, people typically had two houses, one in the village and one by the sea (where they kept their fishing boats and equipment). Today these old fishing houses became apartments for rent, and they are extremely popular with the tourists. In fact, there are already some tourists here, despite the fact that the summer season hasn't officially started yet.

I simply adore spending early summer here, but I don't get the change to do it that often. This year I manage to still some time, and here I'm! Ready to share all the travelling tips I have in my sleeve (as a regular visitor). If you don't like the crowds, now it is the perfect time to visit island Hvar. Not that it gets really crowded in these lovely southern bays (because as you can see, there aren't that many houses in them). Everything is privately owned (by locals) on this part of the island so there are no big hotels and things like that, everything is super green and relaxed. If you're the type to enjoy the night life, then check out the other part of this island (for example cities like Stari grad, Jelsa or Hvar). Hvar city (that shares its name with the island) in particular has a very vibrant night life. This area is more oriented towards family, green and organic tourism.

Now, tell me how do you like this place? Would you like to vacation here? If yes, look for apartmant number 4044.  Here is a link to a travel/tourist agency that rents my parents' apartment and there you should be able to find a precise description of this apartment as well as to find out about availability and the prices. My parents tell me they still have a week free in August and October. If you would like to book an accommodation in this house with a price significantly lower that than of an agency, you can send an email to my father: kardummile at gmail.com or if it is more convenient for you, email me and I will forward it to my dad. The apartment is already booked for most of the summer season,  but there are still some vacancies so check the availability to see if they suit you. I think October isn't fully booked yet either. Late Summer is also a great time to visit and the prices are typically more affordable.

  24. What a beautiful place go grown up. Sad what is happening and funny (or not so funny) but I watched a program a few weeks ago on this exact topic--all the empty towns all over Europe in especially in the eastern block countries.

Scary and sad what is happening, everyone moving to cities for jobs a long term effect of the industrial revolution. But now we are in the technical revolution and that is worse. The industrial revolution moved people from agriculture to industry and from small towns to cities but it created jobs-though not the best jobs. The technical revolution loses jobs. For every job that is created you probably lose 20-30. This will effect the first world and the third world. It is not going to be good at all...sadly I do not see a bright future for the world...

On a happier note I LOVE this jumpsuit. I have a beach cover up that has a very similar print. If you have time lol you can see it on my YouTube channel on my Long Beach video.

So cool your parents rent out their place. My step family lives in Paris and I so wish I could live there and then travel to other parts of Europe. This spot looks amazing! It reminds of a park called Discovery Park in Seattle.

And I totally agree with what you said on my last post.

    1. That's a great point. Industrial revolution created jobs while the technological revolution made many jobs obsolete and it will continue to do so. Simply said, there are more workers than jobs. The competition for 'better' jobs is so fierce that I sometimes think it is one of the things that causes this epidemic of depression. One of the sad effects of the technological revolution is that it made people feel more in control, when in fact it is the other way around. In addition, today most people think that owning a smart phone makes them smart, but that's not the way it goes.

But moving onto brighter subjects....I've never been to Paris, but I hope to visit some day. I have an older cousin that lives there, she's about my grandmother's generation, and an accomplished painter. I can see why you would like to live there, it's such a romantic city! One of the perks of visiting Europe is that everything is so close by, it is easy to travel it with a car (that's what I plan to do some day).

This place is pretty lovely too. My parents rent one of the apartments and my uncle rents some too. My grandmother and grandfather build most of this house, and I spent much of my childhood here.
