A classical pair of wide trousers will never go out of style. Today's post is for all of you who'd like to jump on the wide-leg trouser trend or just happen to like this style. Summer is not all about relaxed and vacation vibes. Sometimes we want (or need) to put together a more elegant and sophisticated styling. You guys know I love to wear dresses. However, sometimes trousers are a better option. Even dress lovers will agree that a nice pair of trousers can take one far. Sometimes I like nothing better than a pair of high waist wide trousers, especially when I want to put together a professional looking outfit. The question of the day: 'How to elegantly style wide trousers for summer?'
Today I have a classy summer outfit proposal for you and one that is easy to put together. One of the benefits of wide cut trousers is they are often quite comfortable. In addition, the wide cut often helps us achieve that fabulous vintage vibe. These trousers are easy to dress up and can look incredibly sophisticated. Contrary to popular belief, wide trousers aren't that hard to style. A classical wide-leg cut will look nice on most body types. It's more about finding the right fit and styling it right. If you choose a high waist pair, you'll automatically look taller and leaner, an effect that you can work to your advantage, especially if you pair your trousers with a pair of heels.
ELEGANT SUMMER STYLING- THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT
As you can see, I styled this high waist navy pair with a romantic ruffled blouse, a scarf styled as a belt, a nice bag and a pair of heeled sandals. It was an outfit that was super easy to put together and it made me feel professional, elegant and well put together. I wore it to run some errands in the city and later for a lunch date in restaurant Romanca near Mostar (not sponsored, just mentioning it in case you want to know of a good place to dine in the area). I shopped my closet for this look, as I do often enough. As you might remember I'm currently on a fast fashion shopping ban this summer, something I probably won't have any problems following because I typically don't buy fast fashion items anyway. I'm all about shopping one's closet these days. Speaking of that, I had this ruffled blouse for ages and I wear it quite often. It has proven as a good item and I would say that a statement blouse is often a good investment. If you want to see other ways to style this blouse, you can check out how I styled it with cropped pants (here) and with a mini skirt ( here). Similarly, you saw me wear these heels (for example here and here).
EASY TIPS FOR STYLING WIDE TROUSERS FOR SUMMER IN AN ELEGANT WAY
- PAIR IT WITH A ROMANTIC BLOUSE FOR A FEMININE EFFECT
That is what I've basically done for this styling. To make your outfit more feminine, all you need to add some feminine touches. Cute blouses or tops look lovely with wide leg trousers. Besides ruffles, you can also opt for puffed sleeve top or shirts. You can also opt for feminine accessories.
- PAIR IT WITH A TRENDY ACCESSORY FOR A RELEVANT STYLING
If you want to make your summer styling feel more relevant, include some trendy items or colours into it. For example, yellow is trending right now so you might want to wear your wide leg trousers with a yellow bag or a yellow top. You can also layer your wide leg trousers, for example by throwing on a blazer and going for a suit look. Trendy accessories such as scarves or statement earrings are also an easy way to glam up your wide leg look.
- PAIR IT WITH HEELED SANDALS FOR AN ELEGANT LOOK
If you want your wide leg trousers to look more elegant, pair them with heels. Heeled sandals are a great choice for summer. However, if you want something more comfortable and you're not on first name basis with high heels, opt for wedges or kitten heels.
A FEW MORE IDEAS FOR STYLING WIDE TROUSERS FOR SUMMER
Bellow you can see a few wide leg trouser looks I wore in the past. Some of them feature the pair I showed you in this post, and some feature a beige pair I wear pretty often. Wide-leg trousers are often what I wear when I'm not wearing dresses or skirts. I also like flares, but the wide leg cut feels more classic and hence more appropriate for the subject of today's post (i.e. elegant summer styling).
