Boromine sandals review (+ How to paint on clothes?)/ Recenzija boromina (+ Kako slikati na odjeći?)

This outfit post was shot last month, when it was still warm enough during the day to wear something like this. Nevertheless, I'm aware that this is probably the last post with boromine sandals (those living in Croatia will know what I'm talking about, because these sandals are quite popular here). I wore these sandals quite often last Summer. Boromine are really as comfortable as everyone says they are (once your feet get used to the them, you will feel like you're walking on clouds).  In fact, I wore them so much they have already started to look worn out.  You can see how I wore them  here, here,  here and here. Considering the price, I wasn't expecting them to start looking worn out so early on, but well at least they're incredibly comfortable plus I must be honest and say I literally wore them all the time, so no wonder. However, Autumn is here so bye-bye sandals. Yesterday, I actually wore boots for the first time! How's the weather been treating you? There are a few DIY elements in this outfit (what a surprise, right?). To start with, there is a red necklace I made myself from fimo a long time ago. The trousers have a DIY element to them as well. I have painted flowers on them. Have you ever tried painting on clothes? Find out everything you want to know about painting with textile paints here.

  1. The trend these days is on embroidered designs to clothing. On creativity alone, I will grant you respect on something rather unconventional- painting on your clothes. You could either make garments look better or ruin them on certain patterns or designs painted on them. The pants themselves are great. While I do like the painted designs, I am a little indifferent on if they make these pants better or worse. Anyhow, this is a very nice style job along with the cool T-shirt. Not crazy of them, but the sandals are pretty good in their own right (better than Birkenstocks!).

  15. Isn't it sad when you notice that shoes that you love so much start looking worn out? I had a few pairs like that, loved and wore them so much...until they literally fell apart. I remember these pants, such unique pieces one does remember :)

  21. Dear Ivana, I'm also sad that it looks like that for this year we have to say good-bye to our sandals. Nevertheless I try them still to wear when possible but I wore like you also already boots. I'm so impressed how talented you are! What you painted here is true art and I'm absolutely happy you combined it even with the shirt you won. Thank you for sharing and hopefully you will have some more warm days.

Bravo Ivanice :-*

AN AUTUMN OUTFIT AND A BOOK REVIEW (EAST WEST BY SALMAN RUSHDIE)

Hello darlings! It's suddenly gotten a lot colder here, but I still have one warm autumn styling proposal to share with you. I wore this cute neutral outfit while the sun was still shining bright. On that lovely sunny day, I decided to pair my white (authentic) folklore shirt with a striped mini, dark leggings and a dark green vest. I finished this look with my brown boots and a tartan belt. Besides this outfit, I will share another book review on my blog today. East West by Salman Rushdie also happens to falls into category of magic realism. I'm no stranger to Salman Rushdie,  I read Midnight's children a while back and I started but never finished Satanic Verses. This is the first time I read his short stories, though.  I really liked this collection and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

KAFKA ON THE SHORE, A NOVEL BY HARUKI MURAKAMI (BOOK REVIEW & OUTFIT PROPOSAL)

Hello, my darlings! I will be sharing two things with you today: a book review and an outfit post. This cozy outfit proposal features two printed items: a printed scarf and a skirt. The bluish scarf was a gift from a friend and I like how it looks with this camel coat (another gifted item). The wool/silk printed skirt is old, a creation from fashion house Edi. You had a change of seeing this unique floral print on the blog here , here and here. Under the camel coat I have worn this white blouse and this red blazer.  I completed the outfit with a red beanie and high brown boots.  It has gotten colder in Croatia even on the shore. Speaking of the shore, Kafka on the Shore is the novel I will be reviewing today.
MURAKAMI, A WRITER THAT REMINDS ME OF A CAT

10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I…
