Why is DIY good for the soul?
Hi there! As you can see I'm no longer in Split (Croatia), I'm actually in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) at the moment. I made a stop in a local library here to pick up some books. Yesterday I've read Buddha in Supermarket by Dario Rukavina and even if this collection of stories one wasn't my cup of tea, it seems to me that this author may have some potential. I will be searching for more of his works. Now, about the outfit. I feel like wearing something all pink and feminine. This skirt is vintage and the flowers you can see on it are DIY meaning that I painted them myself. I've always been a DIY kind of gal, especially when it came to fashion. I think I will add some extra details to this pencil skirt. What do you think about this outfit? Is it something you would wear yourself? Do you own a foulard? How do you wear it? Do you like pencil skirt?
...and to answer the question from my title, I think DIY is good for the soul because it makes us more creative and creativity is food for the brain. In addition, it can make us feel better about ourselves. In this society where everything seems to be 'available for purchase', making something ourselves can be a healing experience. It can open our eyes and connect us with the more simple times.
Zdravo! Biste li vi to nosili? Volite li suknje olovka kroja?
Uz to, možemo postati zadovoljnjiji sami sobom.

DeleteU ovakvim kombinacijama ti sjajna figura baš dođe do izražaja, divno izgledaš!

DeleteI don't think DIY is good for my soul, I am rubbish at it. I stick to writing for creativity.

well, writing is kind of DIY for the soul:)
DeleteI'm with Anne, on this, DIYs are not good for me because I am completely hopeless with them. Not sure if it's the camera angle but gosh, you look super sliming the first picture, Ivana.

Well, DIY can take many forms, I think that even preparing a meal can be a DIY of a kind...and writing a blog post! I just like that idea of making something by ourselves.
Deletethank you Shireen, I think it must be the angle plus these open sandals with high heels:)

DeleteOh, dear Ivana, I know these days when pink is necessary so well! Love your dress and for sure I would wear it :) I agree to what you wrote about why DIY is good for the soul as I recognised absolutely the same (although I do in comparison to you at the moment only very few DIY). And I'm happy with you you are back in Mostar and reunited with your dear husband.

Wow, koliko lepo i elegantno izgledas u ovoj kombinaciji. Prava dama!
