8 WAYS TO STYLE A PRINTED SKIRT WHILE SHOPPING ONE'S CLOSET
Hello darlings! Today I'll show you eight ways to style a printed ruffled skirt. I bought this skirt a few years ago. I fancy both its pattern and cut. Moreover, I find it really easy to style. I have worn this parsley print skirt fairly recently for a visit to this place. Therefore, I figured it would be a fine idea to make one of those 'X ways to wear a Y item' posts that you seem to enjoy.
Ciao miei cari!
1. WITH A BLACK BLAZER, A GREEN HAND PAINTED T-SHIRT, A PAIR OF OLIVE TIGHTS AND GREY BOOTS
This was a recent styling and a very comfortable one. This blazer was custom made for me (as a part of a suit) so I obviously love to wear it. Nothing really replaces that tailored feel, does it? Other items that you might find interesting is this green hand painted t-shirt and this pair of printed tights. If you want a more detailed view of this hand painted long sleeve t-shirt or want to learn more about using textile paints, feel free to check out this and this post. The boots are old as well and (nothing is new about any of these outfits) and they're really light on my feet.
This is another combo where I choose to pair this printed skirt with a graphic tee. Sometimes I like to keep things simple and sometimes I like to print mix. For more photographs of this styling, feel free to visit this post where it was originally posted. This is obviously a warm weather option, but you can turn this outfit into an autumn one by adding a jacket or a blazer and/or a pair of boots.
Here we have another summer styling that could easily be transformed into an autumn one by layering a sweater, a blazer or a coat. I like how this skirt looks with a black t-shirt and heels. It definitely pays off to have a basic black t-shirt in one's closet. Moreover, how easy is it to make an outfit elegant and feminine? All you need is a cute pair of heels. More about this styling here.
4. WITH A WHITE BLOUSE, TINY SUNGLASSES AND COMFY FLAT SHOES
I wore this outfit for hiking this summer, but I haven't posted it before. As you can see, here I paired this printed ruffled skirt with a white blouse. I quite like this combo. I might wear it this autumn as well with introduction of some layers. I think it would look great with a white blazer. What do you think? Should I wear it that way?
5. WITH A STRIPED CARDI, A BLACK BLAZE, A VINTAGE BAG AND POINTY HEELS
This is another layered look that is perfect for those unpredictable autumn days. By layering a striped cardigan underneath a black blazer, I made sure I was warm enough. At the same time, I knew I could take the blazer off if it gets too warm. This cardigan is one of the oldest pieces in my closet, I got it as a kid and I still keep it. You can see how I styled it here and here. I finished this book with a black vintage blouse and pointy heels. This outfit was originally posted here.
6. WITH AN OFF SHOULDER TOP, A FOLKLORE BAG AND A PAIR OF BLUE SHOES
Bellow you can see me wearing a blue vintage top I hand painted myself (if you look closely, you'll see the inscription 'a little place to call my own' that refers to this blog!) The bag I'm wearing is a Croatian traditional folklore bag and it is very special to me because it was a gift from my late grandmother. The dark blue shoe were a great find, but I don't have them anymore. They fell apart while I was running to catch a ferry (something I have done a lot in my life).
Mixing prints can be so much fun! Originally posted here, this is an outfit rich in DIY elements. It is also another warm weather styling that you can turn into an autumn/winter one by layering a coat or a blazer and opting to wear tights. Pairing tights with heels is a neat trick to create feminine but warm combos for autumn/winter. It also allows you to maximize your open toe heels and/or heeled sandals.
8. WITH A SILK BLOUSE, A VINTAGE CORD BLAZER, TIGHTS AND POINTY HEELS Posted originally here, this was a fun outfit that I fondly recall. This vintage blazer is possibly one of the most worn items in my closet, it seems to look great worn with anything. I think it matches the autumn appropriate colours of this skirt quite well.I finished this look with a grey silk blouse, grey tights and black pointy heels. Tell me what do you think?
That would be all for today. Thank you for visiting & reading. / Siamo finiti per oggi. Grazie per la vostra visita e per aver letto!/ To je sve za danas, hvala na posjeti i na čitanju.
I've always loved printed skirts, though more so in the summertime - until recently! I've fallen head over heels for autumnal printed skirts in mid-lengths now. You really suit printed skirts, Ivana! :)

DeleteOvaj šos najviše (po meni) dolazi do izražaja u ljetnim kombinacijama. Super mi je na kratke rukave i gole noge. Odlično ti stoji, najviše mi se sviđa kako si iskombinirala na cold shoulder majicu i onu crnu majcu kratkih rukava odmah ispod te.
ReplyDeleteDefinitivno suknju nosiš često :)
hvala
DeleteYou perfectly combined all these outfits with this skirt :) :**

This is so fun - I also like that you've worn it in different ways to show off that interesting lace trim (I like how it lines up with the landscape in the first picture!). A skirt that can go casual or dressy is always a winner in my closet! I hope you have a great week, Ivana!

thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed this post!
DeleteLovely post dear! Have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteI liked the options.... And what I see about your style is that you own many clean and neutral pieces to mix with more quirky garments. You have the best of both worlds and I must say a balance of many pieces in your fashion posts!
ReplyDeleteI liked also the boho feels in this post, they remind of Gucci latest collections, with many prints and a lot of references to the 70s... you should check it out, I'm sure you could get a lot of inspiration for upcoming illustrations ;)
