VISIT THE MAGNIFICENT MOUNTAIN LAKE BLIDINJE WITH ME!

Nature Park Blidinje hides a gem of great beauty: magical lake Blidinje. In the presence of this lake, I found myself overwhelmed by a feeling of complete calmness, perhaps for the first time in many days. Enchanted by its beauty, I walked into the lake. While standing in the lake and gazing into the mountains in the distance, I had a feeling that the time itself halted and the great clock of life stood still. It was a kind of mythical experience, when you feel yourself both small and great before the immense and overwhelming natural beauty. 

I have always loved mountains, being surrounded by them my all life. Still, there is always something surreal about a mountain lake, a particular kind of beauty. A feeling of sacredness came over me. So many people regard mountains as sacred and I can understand why. Gazing at them while the wind played with my hair, and the sun stroked my skin, awoke a particular feeling inside if me, a state of tranquility, you might say. I believe this feeling, this unexpected gift of grace, is something we all carry in ourselves, a possibility and capacity for love, gratitude, happiness and freedom. Nature teaches us the lesson of love with its mere existence, speaking to us in the language of silence. In its sacred silence sometimes we find a potent message, a window that opens to the infinity of our soul. 

Parco Naturale Blidinje. Lago di Blidinje. Qui davanti un lago della montagna sento calma. Forse la prima volta in tanti giorni. Con le mie gambe in acqua calda, con sole che mi accarezza la pelle e il vento che gioca con i miei cappelli. Un'esperienza forse un po mitica, con le montagne che trasmettono un senso di pace nella mia alma. Le montagne sacre. Forse tutte le montagne sono sacre. Io le guardo da piccola, montagne diverse, potente e magiche. Mi sempre danno una emozione particolare, ma forse questa emozione è proprio una cosa che portiamo in noi stessi. Una possibilità di felicità, una capacità di amare, di sentire bene, di essere gratuiti. La natura la insegna senza parole, questa lezione d'amore, la insegna senza dire niente, con un silenzio che  è tanto bello quanto la piu bella poesia. In silenzio troviamo la poesia della natura. Davanti una natura così  bella possiamo sentire piccoli e grandi in stesso momento. Una magia della natura potente, una sensazione che insegna che  l’amore e la bellezza rimane con noi sempre, che è qualcosa che portiamo in dentro. 

Un momento particolare, semplice ma speciale, un regalo quando non lo aspetti. Uno stato di tranquillità e appagamento. Un momento per essere me stessa. Un secondo che è più  grande della un'ora, di tanto tempo perduto. Tranquillità. Pace. Tante sensazione in poco tempo. Un momento che sembra infinito. Questo piccolo grande amore. Tutto questo dentro di noi. Un universo infinito. 

Park prirode u kojem se nalazi jezero koje oduzima dar: Blidinjsko jezero. Stojim tu, izgubljena u trenutku, možda u čuđenju pred ljepotom ovog prizora, pred čudom planinskog jezera. Tu pronalazim mir, možda prvi put u toliko dana, mir praćen dubljim osjećajem u kojem možda ima pomalo i mistike. Čini mi se da sam u trenutku koji traje vječno. Stojeći u jezeru, vjetar mi mrsi kosu, a ja gledam planine. Cijeloga života gledam planine i nikada im se ne prestajem diviti. Stipe Božić govorio je o svetim planinama svijeta i doista možda su za neke od nas sve planine svete. U toj ljepoti nađoh , toliko puta, poeziju bez riječi, nimalo manje lijepu u svojoj tišini.

Sveta tišina koja nas uči da je taj osjećaj ipak nešto što nosimo u sebi. Mogućnost ljubavi, osjećaja sreće i slobode. To nas priroda uči bez riječi, tu lekciju ljubavi i ništa nam ne mora reći, prekrasna u svojoj tišini i veličini, poruka sama po sebi. U tišini pronađoh ljepotu prirode, u tišini je možemo osjetiti, u prostoru naše duše. Ponovo doživjeti taj trenutak koji činjaše se vječnošću, te male velike trenutke i male velike ljubavi u beskraju svemira koji je naša duša. 

Blidinje lake (Blidinjsko jezero) is the largest mountain lake in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located at an elevation of 1.885 meters (3.888 feet). This lake isn't very deep, its maximal dept is about 3 meters and its average dept is only 0.5 m. Its width and length are a bit over 2 km, but these two can vary depending on weather conditions. Blidinje lake is an immensely impressive sight. As I already mentioned, this was not my first time visiting. However, it was the first time I felt such a sensation of peace and a deep connection to this place. 

Il lago Blidinje (Blidinjsko jezero) è il lago di montagna più grande della Bosnia ed Erzegovina. Situato a un'altitudine di 1.885 metri (3.888 feet), questo lago non è molto profondo, la sua profondità massima è  circa 3 metri e la sua profondità media è 0,5 m. La sua larghezza e lunghezza sono circa 2 km, ma questi due fatti possono variare in rispetto delle condizioni meteorologiche. Il lago Blidinje è uno spettacolo davvero impressionante. Come ho già detto, questa non è stata la mia prima visita. Tuttavia, è stata la prima volta che ho sentito sensazione di pace e una profonda connessione con questo luogo.

Blidinjsko jezereo je najveće planinsko jezero u Bosni i Hercegovini, a nalazi se na nadmorskoj visini koja iznosi 1.888 metara. Ovo jezero nije veoma duboko, njegova maksimalna dubina je svega tri metra, a prosječna samo pola metra. Širina i dužina su oko dva kilometra, ali mogu varirati ovisno o vremenskim prilikama, tako da ne izgleda uvijek jednako. Kao što sam već spomenula, ovo nije moj prvi posjet. No, ovo je prvi put da sam osjetila takav osjećaj mira i povezanosti s ovim mjestom.

How do you like lake Blidinje? There is always something unique about a mountain lake, isn't there? I already took you to mountain lake Blidinje in my SIGHTS TO SEE, PLACES TO VISIT: BLIDINJE LAKE  feature, but today I took you there again. Visiting a mountain lake often feels like finding a rare gem. There is nothing quite like it. I was surprised to find the water quite warm. I know that the lake is quite shallow, but I wouldn't expect warmth on this altitude, not even in summer. It was a pleasant surprise for sure. I swear there was a moment, while I was standing in this unexpectedly warm lake, that seemed to linger indefinitely. The wind in my hair, the sun on my skin, the views before me- it all made me feel quite poetical and philosophical (hence the lengthily opening paragraph, written (not translated but written separately- not quite the same thing, takes up  much more time) in three languages.

THE STORY OF AN OUTFIT

To be completely honest, I had thrown this maxi dress into the car with the sole purpose of taking photographs in it if the opportunity presents itself (and it did). I do like this dress but it is not the most sensible hiking outfit, is it? Our trip to the mountains was only a day long, we didn't stay the night in nature park Blidinje this time so I had no need for this dress (apart from the one I just admitted to). I will show you what I really wore for hiking the nature park Blidinje in my next post.
